Is anyone going to to be willing to offer enough for patriots to be willing to move down. None of the prospects at QB are worth over paying for.

Suggest we look closely at The Saints list:

1. The are in need for a QB.
2. They have a massive cap problem as they are already 65 million over the cap that needs trimming pre draft.

Pick over what we could use on their list and trade down from 1 to 10 and pick up some plug in pieces to full the gaps.

Mayo's demeanour at the post game presser looked and felt like a man who knew he was one and done.

Nice bloke but a lousy coach.

Pleased that the Krafts acted promptly and cut their losses.

The parting is a real positive for me after what can only be described as a horrible season, I expected this season to be tough but some of the calls and game management was head scratching and left me with little confidence in the Coaching.

Another positive was Joe Milton, very impressive debut.

Mike Vrabel ..... come on down.

As far as not holding the number 1 pick, I am absolutely fine with that, we dont need a QB and there will be good players available with pick 4 in positions of real need.
Sure we lose the picks tradability, however I can live with that given that we now start a fresh with a new Head Coach.

Given these two options:

A. Keep Mayo and keep pick 1.
B. Move on to a new HC and hold pick 4.

I will gladly take option B.

Pleased with the Krafts showing some balls and Hand Job Bob not being ruled by the heart and actually using the head with this decision.

It was the only logical decision Kraft could have made. I'm thankful he did.

Looks like the Krafts are not wasting any time in positioning themselves to get ahead of the pack in their search for a new Head Coach.

They currently have four interviewees and I suspect it might stop at that.

They have already completed interviews with Byron Leftwich and Pep Hamilton, and by having completed theses two interviews they have now complied with the Rooney Rule.

( We all know that the way the Rooney Rule is managed currently, that it's a crock of shit and a farcical event, better of just scrap it IMO, as its insulting and is no more than tokenism to the candidates, in its current form. )

So they have positioned themselves nicely and they could therefore make a relatively quick decision.

They have a scheduled interview Vrabel ( no surprise there ).

And have requested an interview with Ben Johnson.

Fair to say that Vrabel and Johnson are the two hottest names on the Head Coaching merry go round this off season and apparently both have genuine interest in the NE position.

Vrabel for obvious reasons ( He was who I wanted to get the job last year ).... but Kraft Snr botched that whole process.

Johnson I have read is a huge Drake Maye fan and rates him highly.

A couple of names to watch out for a GM perspective ( I think Wolf could well be a dead man walking ... he underperformed and under delivered last years trade window badly IMO ).

Mike Borgonzi is very well regarded he is the Chiefs assistant GM, there was rumour that we were interested in him last season, but he decided to recommit the The Chiefs, seems he is on the interview trail this year, which could be good for us.

The second name is one from the past in Tommy Dimitroff, who is close and tight with Vrabel, it was reported that Vrabel wanted the Jets to Interview Dimitroff for their GM position, as part of his pitch as a tag team.

I want either Johnson OR Vrabel and Borgonzi would be my first choice for the GM role But I could live with a Dimitroff move as he has history as being a good trader and drafter of players .

This HC appointment is crucial for the Krafts to nail, no question that their reputations have taken a solid hit after several successive bad calls and their meddling:

The TB departure.
The Jimmy G situation that BB wanted him over TB and R Kraft over ruled that.
The entire BB demise and disconnect at the end with Kraft and BB.
The whole Mayo appointment which effectively short circuited any meaningful HC search.
And my pet hate ... The Krafts need to open their not insignificant wallets and spend some money in free agency.

Just my two cents worth. :)
