New Swans have:

10 MORTON, Mitch
17 WALSH, Tommy

Find these 2 the most interesting.

Walsh is a good story. Gutted we couldn't convince him to stay but the word of his Ireland County captain was too hard to resist. Great little nod to get the #17 :thumbsu:

Morton is really interesting. So much talent but does he have the work ethic? We'll find out in Sydney.

Getting a high number is a good boost for his morale. If they stuck him in the 30's or 40's he may have felt as though he was a spare parts pick up. Getting the #10 says that he is firmly in Longmire's plans and hopefully he gets a real crack in the midfield, whete he has shown his best form at AFL level.

Would have thought Mitchell would take his dad's #10 - seems to be the trend nowadays that F-S selections don't take their father's numbers

Like the Irish #17 connection too.

Interesting to see how Morton goes in Sydney

Didn't even think of that. Would've been a great little connection but like you said, most young guys want to forge their own path and try not to emulate their dad.

Some still take their dad's number. Ayce Cordy, Steve Morris, Tom Hawkins for example.

Do Adelaide not hand out the 19? Why?

Given to the fans, the "19th man".

Similar to Hawthorn not having a #1, as "the fans are number one".

Why is Essendon always so slow in announcing new jumper numbers? Every year, it just drags out. Not sure what the big deal is. The players obviously know.

We need a Bomberleak.

Just someone please let the number seepage happen.

So what number does Max Bailey wear now? I know he wore a different number (like 38 or something) in the finals but is it permanent now?

He took Robbie Campbell's #39.

Essendon posters thought theirs would be announced at the family day in a couple of weeks time.

Sheedy will probably have his players changing from week to week to fool the opposition:p

The Dogs are yet to confirm all of their draftees, and Melbourne haven't announced their new rookie listed players.
