Considering Big M is basically non existent up here (along with Samboy chips, Savoy biscuits, flake in a fish shop, and cabana at the deli) then Dare is typically what I would drink when the need for an iced coffee takes me. Nice work St Kilda!

Haha drove past a dare billboard one time, had to explain to dear old mum the joke... she thought she was having a stroke.

unfortunately, can you please explain it to me.

i obviously don't get it.

Fun fact ladies and gents...

Paddy Mac's old man, Matt, is the head of sales for little creatures in vic and tas. Little creatures is also owned by lion

Looks like recruiting paddy has just paid off BIG time!

Honestly, Dare seems a better fit than LEDified for both companies. I'm sure LEDified gained some brand exposure with their sponsorship but I can't see how it would have translated to a big spike in sales for the money they spent. I'd imagine Dare would gain a lot more, being a smaller impulse purchase. Plus, the St Kilda brand and the Dare brand just seem to fit better. Plenty of opportunities to incorporate the dare slogan into something football related.

Side note: I was looking through the pics on fb and Lonie looked like a little kid that had won a training guernsey and the opportunity to take some pics with the players. Look how small he is  (doesn't help that he's next to Tommy 'guns' Curren though :p)

Seriously, our man is looking like a beast, eh, Lexy?

"Be still thy beating heart, thou maiden"? ;)

I cannot remember any sponsor getting this level of exposure when they came on board. Ever. The first I knew about Ledified was seeing them on the jumper, and thinking, "Ooookay, well, news to me..." Same for Jeld-Wen, really.

Having an event like this is just a complete culture change.

I remember when Westaway was still President, I'd heard that he'd said something to the tune that, Smaller companies made better sponsors, because they didn't need to be pampered as much as big companies do. I understood his point, but part of that comment always bugged me - it implied that the St Kilda administration wasn't willing to go the extra mile for the sponsors. That seemed like it'd cost us.

Totally different this time.

LEDified would still be getting a lot out their sponsorship, though. There'd probably be hundreds of thousands of people who would have heard of them if it wasn't for the small bit of exposure we've given them. Yes, it's much, much less of an impulse purchase than Dare, but there'd still be a heck of a lot of people who would now consider using LEDified when renovating or whatever, because they recognise the name from a footy jumper.

I think that the Dare sponsorship is only possible because of a sponsorship rule change at the AFL a year or two ago. Until they changed it, I'm pretty sure that Coca-Cola Amatil had a monopoly on non-alcoholic drinks within the AFL. So every bottle of water or soft drink or anything that you got at the footy was from Coca-Cola. The change is why everyone went from drinking Powerade to Gatorade last year, because Gatorade could finally become a sponsor. Good work by the AFL in changing that, because its opened at least this sponsorship up for us.

Built like a truck, no one's getting past him this year.

I definitely agree they got something out of it. I don't think many people had heard the name at all before this deal, but in terms of the link between money spent and sales revenue, I think Dare will profit more. Not that I have any sales figures to back this up, just my uneducated opinion.

It does help that there has been only positive news in the media for the past year.

No ugly rumours, no bad media. Just positive vibes

Most, if not all of us have heard or drunk Dare. Whereas I had not heard of LEDified until they became a sponsor. I will at least try therr new product now.

Finnis said Ledified are staying in partnership so all good. Maybe a shorts sponsor or something...maybe the polo sponsor?

I swear when I read the statement this morning it said that Dare would appear on the back of away jumpers. Perhaps implying that LEDified would appear on the front of away jumpers.

However it's no longer in the article so I'm unsure if I just dreamt it up.
