NFL New to NFL - Looking for a Team to Follow

The Broncos lost a million and draft picks. They cheated. Just accept it and move on. Call us cheats if you want but remember the Broncos are also cheats :)

So has this thread been completely derailed because everyone is now assuming that anyone "new to NFL" isn't looking for a team to follow, and they're here because of Hayne? (which means they're 9ers fans... for now... but who knows next week? Even if they have to cut him, I still think someone else would pick him up)

I got lucky on this. When the NFL started being shown on free to air tv, I got interested in it and wanted to follow a team. I decided the 49ers were for me.

The very next season, Jarryd Hayne signed.

But there's been plenty of pain so far following the 9ers. Not much of an offence, the team couldn't buy a touchdown. Free wheeling entertainers they are not. But regardless, it's the long haul for me.

Trust me NFL's the greatest game in the world out side our AFL, just a shame your following the 49ers of 2015 only three years ago they were a top team with the No.1 defence!! lost a shit load of players in the last 18 months a total rebuild is needed. I say get on the New England Patriots for your second team they are the Hawthorn of the NFL a great coach and a great QB in Tom Brady!! I've been following since NFL 2000 love it!!

lel from hell

So... I am looking for an NFL team to follow. I'm looking for a team that is relatively decent, with realistic chance at success, but not a team that is super dominant, as I don't want to be a bandwagoner. Also would prefer a team that hasn't been involved in any recent huge scandals or anything. Another thing is, I'd probably prefer a team that is not a universally hated one amongst all opposition, kind of the equivalent to Collingwood here.

I've already ruled out New England Patriots, as they won the latest Super Bowl, and something about them really grinds my gears. And the 49ers have also been ruled out, as they seem a bit useless, and I don't want to look like I'm just jumping on because of Hayne.

Thanks in advance for anyone with a suggestion :)

Vikings 100% IMO

Or the Raiders, but they are sort of like Collingwood

Options below. Not all of them fit perfectly to what you described, but they're all the closest matches to what you asked for.

NFC....Cardinals, Vikings, Panthers, Falcons, Saints, Rams
AFC....Bengals

What I always suggest to newcomers....then go to the wikipedia page for each team, and read up on their general history, to get a better feel for each, and slowly whittle them down as things jump out at you that you like or don't like from each one that you read up on. And then lastly, watch some games involving your whittled down list (could be say two teams left you're deciding between), and maybe by then one you really FEEL FOR happens at that stage.

Saints? He doesn't want a scandal! :)

Maybe it's time to upgrade to the promotional video

To bad he has given up and jumped off the band wagon. ;)

Some very tough lean years these last three decades. :(

Gotta be tough to perservere :thumbsu:
