I like what I'm seeing but then I remember every win this year makes Gase's job all the more secure. Screw it tho, enough of my personal agenda's, I'm just happy to see some progress no matter who the coach, this was the type of team performance i pictured regularly happening coming into the season.

Can't say enough about Gregg Williams and the job he's done with a below average defense outside of the uber elite safety duo. Should be getting a tone more kudos than he is if not for the offense looking like complete dog shit for 3/4s of the season.

Agree I'm not a fan of Gase either, but he's all but confirmed for 2020 and the extra wins now just lock it in further, so that's who it is.

Forgot to add that a Kicker is also a desperate need. Like wow, we need a kicker lol. We will leave so many points on the field if we don't get someone decent there.

As a newly acquired closet Jets fan im begininng to understand the meaning of "same old Jets".

That's two weeks in a row Ive been on right side of picking Jets games. Could just see them dropping this one a mile out.

Can't even blame Gase entirely for this either. The team in general has no idea how to handle success of in particular adversity. As soon as shit starts to go wrong it spirals out of control in a hurry. Players and coaches seem powerless to stop it. ☹

Agree I saw this blip coming too, but it's not unexpected for a team with holes. Things work some of the time, others they are exposed.

They will very likely finish at 5-11, to be honest we don't even want to win more games than that from here, we don't want to win our way out of a top 10 pick (to be honest we probably should have been looking at a top 5 pick were it not for the recent wins).

I have seen enough from Darnold and an improved defensive system to see some upside moving forward next year. Mononucleosis isn't an easy thing for an elite athlete to just get back from, it would have limited him significantly and the O-line changes every week due to injury and form. I'm expecting significant improvement just from getting a healthy and consistent O-line qnd QB combo next year.

I'm not sold if they should/will retain Bell or trade him because they need to fill a lot of holes.

It's been a crappy year that was killed off in the first 6 weeks, but still some encouraging signs and some stuff that gives me hope of a wildcard shot in 2020/21 season.

Top 5 priorities this off-season

1) O-line
2) O-line
3) O-line
4) CB
5) O-line

Sorry, can I add some more?

6) New head coach
7) O-Line
8) O-Line
9) O-Line
10) O-Line

Asked Monday if Le'Veon Bell will remain the Jets' 2020 starter at running back, coach Adam Gase replied "ask (GM Joe Douglas) tomorrow."
Gase's open antagonism to his high-dollar running back has been close to unprecedented. Although Gase did give Bell the requisite work this season — the 27-year-old averaged 16 carries and 21 touches — the coach has taken every opportunity to make it clear he was not in favor of Bell's signing by ex-GM Mike Maccagnan. Gase made a big show of throwing Bell under the bus when he was ruled out against his will in Week 14 then went bowling. Bell, of course, had a miserable year running behind the Jets' horrendous offensive line, averaging a career-worst 3.2 yards per carry. He was made available ahead of October's trade deadline and will certainly be shopped this offseason. Cutting Bell would leave behind $19 million in dead money while freeing up just $3.5 million. It's not a good situation.

7-9 (ok yesterday's game was a wash as the Bills had nothing to play for) is a decent result for the year. If Darnold hadn't got sick and we hadn't blown week 1 against the Bills who knows

For God's sake get an O-line, some CBs and an edge rusher and we might actually take advantage of Darnold next year while still on his rookie contract

For the sake of $3.5m we might as well hang on to him unless we get something decent back in a trade.

And you can kiss any potential "value" Bell had in a trade scenario goodbye thanks to Gase letting everyone in the free world know that he doesn't want Bell. ****ing moron.

What sort of coach brags about being "rich as ****" to media.....time to grow some balls, Joe, get that moron mate of yours out of here. **** Christopher Johnson, walk out the door if he's going to handicap and make a mockery of you being a GM. Your reputation is on the line, is this what you've really worked for? To be an owner's puppet? And you can forget about any future employment in this sort of role again if this all goes arse up.Time to do things your way. Youre the only one who save this franchise.

I'm not even a Jets fan, but this whole situation makes me so angry.

The whole place is a joke from the owner down - reminds me of MFC under Schwab just a complete joke with no idea. Unfortunately owners can't be voted out if I had my time again and with the benefit of hindsight I don't think the Jets would be my number 1 choice....

I do have a soft spot for the Panthers in the NFC because my junior footy club was the Panthers and there's something about them I like. Can't really stand Cam though but that might not be a problem next year and the NFC South is a great division (I like the Saints, go back and forth with the Bucs and can't stand the Falcons).

Edit not that I'm jumping off, I've made my choice and have to live with it - but having a couple of other teams to follow is fun. And the afc east is a shitshow every year at least the Bills had a crack this year. But until Belichick retires the Pats will own it

Ive been off Cam since the superbowl I think, if you're going to talk the talk you better walk the walk and since that point he's been injury prone and average at best. Not to mention the majority of Panthers fans having some sort of ridiculous belief that he can return to MVP form. We've seen one season of it in a 9 year career. There is no evidence of that ever becoming a thing again.

It was a fun season but at some point you have to face reality and let go. Something the majority of our fans refuse to do.

I believe the Ravens are destined to fall short in the playoffs this year and for the forseeable future all becoz of GG. You can't switch sides like that as a fan and expect to be superbowl champs a year or so later. The football gods wont allow it. No biggie for GG, but sucks for their longtime supporters.

😜

and if it happens, then what will you say? i jumped mid last year so wasnt chasing lombardis. thats the difference here, just finding a truer home. if i was chasing trophies for the reason to turn, maybe the gods would look unkindly

I believe in this just like you do Jesus, it will rock me to the core if I found it this isn't true. Ill give up supporting sporting teams and become a monk in Tibet. Probably.

Well I will give you one thing GG.exe if your are going to be a turn coat and a traitor to your original team, how fitting it is that you have picked The Ravens.

No doubt Art Modell would be sitting back....... in where ever the hell traitors go..... and saying thats the spirit GG.exe..... dump your original team.

As he slinked out of Cleveland in the stealth of night when he ran out and deserted the team that he had owned from 1961 - 1995.

Good by Cleveland I am off.

As he moved on to Baltimore ...... Hi new team.

He has sent a special message to be handed on to GG.exe for the New Year.

But just to show that I am not entirely mean spirited like the Cleveland Natives who got arrested and charged with having pissed on Modells grave.

I acknowledge that Art Modell did one thing that I will forever be appreciative of:

Thanks Art Modell for firing Bill Belichick and being instrumental in Belichick moving on to New England.
On behalf of all the New England Patriots fans I would like to thank him for firing the Greatest Coach Ever to coach in the NFL.

I am sure that Bill also looks at his six Super Bowl rings and has a chuckle at the fact that Modell fired him ... ain't life a bitch.

And GG.exe may I also send you best wishes for 2020. ;) :thumbsu::football::beercheers:

all a matter of perspective.
we dump friends and girlfriends and find new ones to love all the time.
we also do so rock bands, movies, directors, novelistz, whatever...in and out of love.
people even swap religions.
sports teams are no different.
