Newman axed amongst other list changes

Was initially pissed off with young muddys delisting. In light of his glandular fever though it makes some sense to move him to the rookie list.

The delisting of tunbridge and colledge don't concern me as I think they're serviceable AFL players at best.

Newman was a surprise. Thought he was a chance to be elevated but thought we'd at least give him another year on the rookie list

Still annoyed we didn't give Powell another year

Newman has been severely overrated on this board since day 1.

Personally i thought even then he was still going to kept on the list in 2016 but it obviously goes deeper then people are suggesting and he's probably not meeting some sort of requirement the club expected of him. Not shedding a tear over it regardless, it was a failed 4 year investment, now it's time to move on.

Powell showed the most and even he got moved on.

I was definitely shocked by this, but I can't say it doesn't make sense. Waterman's would just be managing the playing list while he is long term unavailable - I wouldn't necessarily take it as an indication they don't think he will make it.

I'm hoping Corey 'Hotline' Adamson gets a call up to the seniors this year, I'm sure Kane Lucas is a strong chance if we have any midfield injuries. I'm not too sure how Paddy Brophy is tracking.

Happy with Waterman and Colledge to rookie list. Surprised Newman's been delisted after he forced his way into a top two team after spending a year in prison.

The rest of the delisted players are pretty rubbish anyway. In a year or so we'll have forgotten all about them.

In Simpson We Trust.

So happy this thug has been de-listed. He ruined his career the moment he decided to brutally bash someone. Now we can all say justice was trully done. He is just going to be another poor man (this is certain as he obviously isn't a smart) who will have to go through life working the long hours with a criminal history forever haunting him. The victim i'm sure is laughing about it.

For what it's worth, he showed absolutely nothing at AFL level when he played. He came on and kicked a couple of junk time goals when the games were well and truly over. These goals were also handed to him by his team mates who were just sharing the love. Anyone remembering glimpses of talent really have selective memory. Why would WCE persevere with a convicted criminal when there are so many other talented footballers out there. They kept their PR in tact by sticking by him and paying his legal costs.

Jeez people make mistakes get over it

That doesn't mean people get free hits in life. I would have more sympathy if it was a drug related misdemeanour or a gambling issue as these are only affecting the indiviudal involved. Carlisle isn't hurting anyone but himself. But Newman with great insight into what he was doing almost ruined another family's life over a prolonged, selfish, jealous rage. Luckily for everyone involved Newman has lost his career, been to jail and has a criminal record which will bar him from entering many countries and working in many industries.

So a summary of our list movements so far

Out from the main List:

Selwood
Sinclair
Rosa
Waters
Main
Tunbridge
College
Waterman

Out from the rookie list:

McGuiness
Powell

On to the main list:

Redden
Giles
Jetta
Pick 23
Pick 31
Pick 62

On to the rookie list (4 selections):

College
Waterman
Tunbridge (potentially)
Newman (potentially)
Rookie selection (potentially)

So with our plan to change our list structure to 38 main list spots and 6 category A rookie listed players, we have delisted more than normal. With 4 rookie selections its not out of the realms of possibility that College, Waterman, Tunbridge and Newman will all be on the rookie list. I think this might have been done to give us flexibility with our rookie selections.

Yes I understand that and he probably knows that better than most, but to take a parting shot at a players who's potentially leaving the club for the mistakes he's made lacks class.

Out of the delistees waterman is the only one who will be on our list at the end of next year. Throw in mcginnity,Lucas possibly karps and McInnes and a retiring Butler we will have a few picks in a strong draft

The West (pg139) has an article titled
"Newman, Tunbridge still a chance for berth at Eagles"
-"West Coast will consider giving de-listed duo Murray Newman and Simon Tunbridge a lifeline in next month's rookie draft"
-"Eagles list manager Craig Vozzo said the club would be reducing its primary list from 40 to 38 players , allowing it to have six rookies, on top of Corey Adamson and Paddy Brophy. 'We'll be looking at Murray and Simon through the rookie draft process,' Vozzo said"

Why would we get rid of McInnes?

None of our delistees rated a mention here: http://m.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-31...fl-players-your-club-could-consider.mobileapp
Could be a reflection of bias , or a confirmation that they just aren't good enough
Based on how rubbish the article is I'd say they just didn't get any submitted for the Eagles. Waterman would hold more value than most on that list and at least deserves a mention of coming back to WCE. Powell has more natural talent than pretty much the whole list too.

Simmo was always going to start throwing his weight around in list management after a couple years at the helm. He's said that was his plan numerous times.
I'm more concerned with us picking up Carlton's former development coach Luke Webster. Not that I know anything about the guy, but geez- Carlton? Development? Yuck

Would be funny if GWS rookie drafted Tunners.
