NEWS: Eddie vedder solo tour in march 2011

I would love to get my hands on a Canberra boot, but there was a lot of audience noise throughout the night so I'm not sure how good one would be.

I've also decided that Pearl Jam need a better closing song - Hard Sun ends these concerts so much better than Yellow Ledbetter does PJ shows!

Are you serious? Looking forward to EV even more now. Don't believe you though.

I know this was posted a few months ago but your post brought back the best memories of PJ '06. Opened at Rod Laver Arena with Release. Tall candlesticks in background with the white/ cream sheet backdrop. Was an awesome show. I had poor seats though.

'09, right up the front and enjoyed the show much more with my bro. Liam Finn and Ben Harper opening helped. Finn was amazing.

PJ amaze me every time I see them. Will never get sick of watching their shows or even listening to their bootlegs.

Did they open with Release at any of the Melbourne shows in 06? I went to all 3 shows and don't think they did... you thinking of 1998?

YL is tradition.

And not one I've ever been thrilled by.

The solo shows have been more intimate, so it's a different atmosphere and all, but HS just seems to wrap the show up so well. And its much better for a big singalong than the improv act that is YL.

Man, I must be getting old. Didn't think it was that long ago.

Ha. Yeah just had a look over at the PJ setlists archive (www.twofeetthick.com).

1998 - Long Road, Sometimes and Release opened the 3 shows
2003 - Better Man, Small Town and Can't Keep opened the 3 shows
2006 - Wasted Reprise/Life Wasted, Go and Long Road opened the 3 shows.

What triggered it in my mind was the JJJ broadcast of the 1998 shows, of which Release opens.

Hard Sun is a great song but it ain't got nothing on Yellow Leadbetter. Its an awesome finisher, its great fun when the lights come on and they start playing it

The 3 shows I've been to.

I think my brother has been to all but one in 1998.

First Melbourne show was awesome :thumbsu: Highlights for me were his Hurt cover, Immortality, Keep on Rockin in the Free World (with jimmy barnes) Hard Sun, You've got to Hide Your Love Away and Porch

oh you got porch l am going to hit you :D just kidding

Porch was awesome again last night. Eddie had a few lost moments during Crazy Mary and Wishlist especially. Once he got it going Crazy Mary was great though. I was 10 rows from the front and it seemed like the audience was full of stiffs in the rows in front (middle). To the sides, they were pretty good.

Great show in adelaide sunday night...apart from one f***wit yelling out "you can do it" all the time.

Vedder is quality, great quality.

What row were your seats at The Barton?

I had that idiot near me too, and some other clown yelling "Rats, play Rats"

Somehow Rats wouldnt work in an acoustic setting, in my opinion. Not that the peanut behind me would understand.

Great show though. Unbelievable voice. Love the man. :thumbsu:

The Barton :D

gold joke, and then people took f'n offence!

We were the last row right at the back of the dress circle up the top and you could still here that bloke yelling out. I was initially shitty bout the seats but when everyone stood up we stayed standing up
Thought a rejoinder should've been "of course he can do it. he's eddie f'n vedder!"

Yes, a bit like the "IT DOESNT GET EDDIE VEDDER THAN THIS"
That was gold, very witty!!

The Ten Club seat allocation was a bit of a joke. I was in Row O and bought my tickets within minutes of them going on sale.

it was stipulated from day 1 of the announcement that like the 08/09 US tours, 10c allocation was not seniority based and seats were from "random parts of the venue".

in terms of 10c tickets i ended up with row M stalls and row A dress circle in sydney 1 and 2, row D stalls in melb1 and row C stalls for adel1.

if anyone wants any boots, pm me.

Anyone else get this yet? Came out Monday, I think. I grabbed a copy today and there's some great stuff on there. Personal highlights include Rise, Forever Young, No More, Man of the Hour, and All Along the Watchtower.

yeh picked it up last week. watchtower and blackbird are great extras. love golden state in the dressing room and society with liam.

my only gripe is that theres no porch, which has been a staple main set closer for every single solo show hes ever done. to not include it on the dvd was strange. i thought there may have been too many royalties issues with it, but sometimes and bend are on it, so who bloody knows!
