There's no official plan, Hinkley just needs to get Port into finals in 2025 to get an extension. They signed him last year just because he made finals, after missing out in 2022 and not winning 1 finals match. There's no real standards.
Nah it's happening. They signed him with a unofficial handshake that this was going to occur. He's not even coaching now. Stands there without a headset , Carr does everything.

I'll believe it only when it actually happens. I expected Hinkley to get fired in 2018, 2019 and 2022, but they unbelievably kept him on, Koch even said they wanted him to be a "20 year coach".

Considering he stated in his presser that playing away to West Coast was part of a brutal draw for his side, blokes got some mental demons he needs to address
a) noted that Voss, McRae and Kingsley all coached from the bench with no headset yesterday. Of all the Hinkley hate elements this one is the dumbest.
b) the second dumbest is the idea that Carr is the coach, which means the criticism for Port's performances should be on Carr not Hinkley. Carr is Schrödinger's coach, he is both coach and not-coach at the same time depending on what narrative Port haters want to run with.
