I dont think internally we expect to make finals. People at the club (CEO & list manager) know the list build has been a steaming pile of horse sh1t and we're not going anywhere unless we invest in youth and hit the draft. 4th youngest list next year and our most experienced players are all either cooked or garbage anyways. No choice but to go backwards to go forwards

Brad will be safe but needs to take a good hard look at himself , this is mostly down to team selection and not backing in older guys who are taking us nowhere. Most are gone but some still remain and are coming O.O.C
Probably just a question of whether the Essendon board will continue to be patient if the result don't come in 2025. They were quick to move on Rutten, so I wouldn't be confident in their patience based on that. Let me clear - if they're mid-table for most of the year then I think Scott keeps his job for 2026 when his contract expires, but if they're sitting in the bottom 4 for a good portion of the season then I think the pressure will be too great and we'll likely see Scott getting moved on.

I think the board will be patient. Our president has been banging on about stability and unity since he got in 2 years ago. He knows that more shortcuts will get us nowhere. Would be a different story if he wasnt re elected last week and the other mob got in.

Would have to be Beveridge surely. Bulldogs were talked up as a potential dynasty team after the 2016 flag and have lingered in mid table mediocrity ever since.

Why doesn't the poll list all coaches?

If the Crows are not tracking for finals mid season, Nicks should be gone.

Given the evenness of most of the teams & few coaches under pressure, the 1st sacked is wide open...

Beveridge is a good chance if Bulldogs start badly.

Don't think Port would sack Hinkley until at least end of the season.

Goodwin - If he can't get the Demons to bounce back and or there is more unrest within the playing group, he probably gets moved on

Nicks - I still believe he is a good coach, but needs to play finals in 2025

Beveridge - Plenty of talent on that list, top 8 at a minimum

Voss - See Beveridge

B Scott - Can't afford to be bottom 6, but think they are in contention for the 8

Longmuir - See B Scott

No more excuses for Fremantle - finals at a minimum or coach is out on his arse.

Goodwin is definitely the most likely to go along with Ken, but Longmuir at Freo is under the most pressure imo. To miss finals again would be unforgivable with that team.
I think Voss is getting a free ride
blues list is peaking if blues miss the finals thats a massive failure.
Freo’s list entering prime in 2025
For the rest of the decade unless it’s a premiership hang over anything out of the top 6 will be a sackable offence with our list.

Voss has at least made finals the last two years, I don't disagree he'll be under pressure as well but Longmuir has been in the role for longer with less success.

The Fremantle Dockers seem to take positivity to levels that reach the absurd, with no pressure on the underperforming team and their coach with just one finals appearance in a decade. Their wins are talked up as being among the greatest achievements in football, no end of excuses are rolled out for their poor performances and failure to reach their goals, and Fremantle are touted as a superpower waiting to emerge, when in reality they haven't shown any signs of this at all.

Is Pollyanna the captain of the Dockers' AFLW team?
If Elliot hadn’t kicked that goal in the dying seconds of the season to relegate Carlton in 2022 then Longmuir had Freo finishing top 4 in his third year. Coming off the Covid years that’s pretty good and will allow him some rope. Cant see us not making the 8 this year.

Irrespective of how disappointing freo were in 2024 if the blues/Freo gather round wasn’t fixed (although Cripps was on fire 20d 2 Brownlow votes)freo would have played finals and blues miss to.
Bring on 2025 Already

Some of the responses defending Fremantle have about as much logic as an Essendon fan responding to a post about the Bombers not winning a final for 20 years stating that if a number of small things in the North Melbourne vs. Essendon Elimination Final of 2014 had gone differently then the close match would have gone the way of the Bombers rather than the Kangaroos. Or that if Essendon hadn't been suspended from the finals in 2013 and certain other close results late in the season had gone differently, then Essendon would have finished 8th and beaten the 5th placed Richmond in the Elimination Final as default finalist Carlton did.

Please wish Pollyanna all the best when she captains the Dockers in the 2025 AFLW season.

agree vossy or goody imo will be under the most pressure if neither side is firing early

hinkley is a deadman walking but probably won't go til end of the year

He's under the most pressure till the season starts. This is the first year in a long time we haven't lost best 22 players and we added an A grader in our most required position.

I think we'll make top 4 comfortably but he's definitely getting sacked if he doesn't make finals. Regardless if we get 13 wins and miss.

Yep all fair points. I think Freo have an exceptional list and have no excuses not to be top 4, almost top 2 in my view.
