Your 22 isn't younger

It's exactly the same. Check the North vs Richmond thread.

Our list changes this year were Edwards (28), McIntosh (28), Pedersen (25), Campbell (25), Lynch (24), Urquhart (24), Garlett (23), Speight (22) and Mangan (21).

a) Those guys had no real impact on our season so the average list age is misleading.
b) It's encouraging to see the older guys getting the chop. It suggests that the kids taken 2/3/4 years ago are tracking well.
c) Richmond are coming out of a massive cleanout. You're obviously going to have a heap of unproven kids on your list.

Rance will be (is) a gun, was AA half way through the year.
Grimes has played 17 games and already looks like a 200 game defender (definitely will be a gun).
Vickery kicked 35 goals in his first year as a forward (will be a gun).
Griffiths has played about 20 games, is 200cm, 100kg and super athletic. If he gets over his injuries he will be a gun.
Ellis, Conca and Batchelor all have the potential to be good players, too early to tell.
You have Danhiher on the list so our no.9 pick should be included (will be a gun)

And then you forget players like Elton, Astbury, Dea, Helbig, O'Hanlon who are our young talent who havn't played much yet.

That's it listing all your untried players has persuaded me. Richmond will be the first side in the poll to win a flag...

Edit: In fact the whole post is rubbish. All you've done is list players names and said "will be a gun"

How are they untried? Astbury, Dea and Helbig have played 20+ games each. Maybe you should actually know what you are talking about before you make stupid comments

Unproven then.

It's like me saying Essendon are great we have the talented Gumbleton, Browne, Colyer, Kavanagh and Merret. We'll dominate when they come good!!!11!!

How? I named players that will be good and then at the end I added these guys who a lot have high hopes for.

If you did a list a few years ago you would have had Tambling and Fiora on it - does not always turn out the way you think. Which if you have been around a while would know all too well.

I remain sceptical with Grimes and especially Vickery and Griffiths. So essentially you've named one proven player in Rance who is best suited to playing 2nd or 3rd tall imo.
Grimes has played 17 games and already looks like he has played 200+, will be an A+ defender.
Vickery already proved himself in 2011 when he kicked 36 goals un his first year up forward.
Griffiths is only 21 and his already 100kg, 200cm, a brilliant mark and can kick 70 netres off a couple of steps. But he is injury prone, if he gets over injuries there is no doubt that he will be a star.
Ellis played basically every game in his first season and has proved he will be a very good player.
Conca is the same.

Wow - you either need to take the rose coloured glass off or post when you are older than 10.

Lindsay Thomas kicked 38 goals this year - if Vickey is proven after 36 then Thomas will also be A grade??

70 metres off a couple of steps:thumbsu:

Vickery was also terrible this year.
Grimes is a Grimes will likely get injured again very soon.
Griffiths is overrated by Tiger fans. What has he actually done?

Ellis is meh. I Rate Conca highly

Have you watched Richmond play in the last 3 years? The most I have seen us put behind the ball is 1 just like every other club. We run and carry as much as any other team which is risky since if you turn it over you get scored against easily. Don't see how that is just trying to stop getting scored against. Anyway we don't ever have to go completely defensive since we were only in a position were we could have got smashed twice unlike North. Don't know what team your watching but it sure isn't Richmond.

Why would anyone watch Richmond for the last 3 years if you know in advance there not going to make finals lol

Essendon I reckon. Talented youngsters (put Hurley in backline!) just need to have a good run with injuries and they'll be right up there.

Essendon for me.
Look at how good they were playing early in the season this year and it shows where they will be next year or perhaps 2014.
Personally feel they must get going next year as a few of their better players are currently in their prime and they need to bank on it sooner rather than later as we have seen how quickly injuries can hurt a team.

I like their backline, take away Fletcher, they still got a core that has the quality to become one of the best and although he cops a fair whack from many posters on this site, Hurley is on the way to becoming a gun and not many his size can play forward or back as effortlessly as he does.
Little factors like that will hold them in good stead.

They looked good early as they had the easiest draw in the AFL. Played 18th, 17th, 16th, 14th, 13th, 12th, 10th in the 1st 10 week. Only travel was V Suns and GWS. Too many people got sucked in by there good start without looking at who they beat.

perhaps but I am judging them on the last few years as well not entirely the 2012 season as they really do have good players in important positions.
I liked the way they stood upto St Kilda (when they were in their prime) and eventually overcame them, they have had some good duels with a few top teams in recent years while the easier matches they have let themselves down in.

They did beat your mob at the start of the season and could have got the better of Collingwood, Sydney had time been on their side.
Their bogey team is Hawthorn but that will no longer be an issue as I see Hawthorn falling back slightly in 2013 as their midfield lacks zip and a bigger body.
(drafting Simpkin just goes to show they got no idea ;)) the reason why Geelong got rid of him was because of his lack of size in comparison to the new breed of AFL mids.

Because unlike Collingwood supporters we are not bandwagoners. We watch our team all the time, not just when they are at the top. Anyone that only watches there team when they are doing well are not real supporters
