Starting to become very pessimistic that we're going to see a PS4 version. Keeps getting pushed back, no official word except from sparkyblue. Has disappointment written all over it.

It'll happen - it will just take a few weeks. The guys building the PS4 app sit opposite from my desk. There's no great mystery to the reason why it isn't in market for week 1 - just commercial agreements between the NFL and Sony took a while and it's a new platform for the league. Things came together really quickly which didn't give us enough time to make week 1.

We also won't advertise an exact release date until we know when it'll be available on the platform for sure, which is why we haven't marketed release dates for that platform.

Thanks for the response, can't wait to use it.

Just woke up to watch the Jets/Browns thru the AppleTV app but can't figure out how to watch it from the beginning while the game is in progress. Is there any way to do this? I know you can on laptop/iPad but can't figure it out in AppleTV.

Anyone have an answer to this one? sparkyblue?

Also only the games are available on AppleTV not the NFL Network feed or the archived programs (like Hard Knocks etc) is this correct?

The NFL Network and other Premium video content will be made available on an upcoming release to the Apple TV app. I don't have an ETA but I'd hazard a guess of it being 2-3 weeks at this stage. It's in the pipeline.

On the other query re: not being able to watch an in-progress game from the start, I believe this is a platform limitation for Apple TV IIRC. I know at least one of our platforms doesn't support this capability. I'll double check on that with my product guy working on that product though.

Do you have access to the NFL phone app people?

If so, please pass on my feedback that this seasons version of the app is arse. Why the hell have they removed game information that were available last season? Why do I have to go to a 3rd party site to be able to see individual player stats?

If I could think of a good reason I wouldn't be so harsh on it... but I can't think of a good reason. They've ****ed what was a really good app last year.

Agree, couldn't care about the damn drive chart. I want stats.

Indeed. In-game Stats will be there in the next release. All going well, there should be an update out this week.

Explanation: the whole stats back-end has been rebuilt this off-season to accommodate Next-Gen Stats with Microsoft (hopefully some of this awesome stuff will be transferred into the app throughout the season). In-game stats will be back as our first priority. In general the app will be "polished" over the next few weeks to bring additional features.

ESPN app doesn't display the correct score...but it has stats.

Such a bitch having to flick between apps

Overall it's an upgrade on what I remember of last year's app - I much prefer the new layout and drive info. Haven't tried to get player info yet though.

Not really app related, but one thing that really bothers me is how they show scores of concurrent or previous games down the bottom. It means that if there's an early game on that you want to rewatch later, you can't really watch any other games because at some point the stats/scores will scroll along the bottom of the screen and tell you the result.
