If the rules for NGA are changed will we only have country areas for indigenous players for both port and us as it is now or will the whole state be included this time. It should be the latter

We don't even have all of the country areas, just a small country area each.

Laura Kane said that promoting indigenous and overseas talent pathways was mote important than "fairness", so I'm sure that means that the SA and WA NGA zones will be expanded to take up the whole of each state.

I mean, surely it's not just unfairness against non-vics that doesn't count . . .

At least they’re being honest now I guess.

But seriously, why would anyone bother with sport unless it was a fair competition? I went to a Globetrotters game once, it was cringey, low-stakes, and boring.

Who is Jack Gallagher's father?

James Gallagher only played 38 games for the Crows, and David only played 26, so neither would make him eligible for F/S selection.

Maybe his mother was a Gallagher, and he's using her surname, his father being an ex-Crow with a different surname?

Jack is James' son, from the reporting on that U14 academy match last week.

Which would mean that Jack isn't eligible for F/S selection, as his father didn't play 100 AFL games for the Crows.

It would appear that the Crows open their academy to all offspring of ex-Crows players, even if they're ineligible for F/S selection. That's a great thing for keeping former players connected to the club, even if it can be a bit misleading for people looking on in the hope of seeing future AFC players.

Isn't James married to one of the netball Von Bertouch twins? Kid should have good sport genes.

That's correct, it's good for past players. You also never know when the AFL might change their rules.

It's also helps a bit with numbers and quality of games/sessions. Most of the father sons are not up to standard.

This would also apply to Ned Atkinson, son of former (5 game) Crow Brodie Atkinson!

It's a boy!!!

Finley Grant Jones.

I wonder if becoming a Dad has any chance of helping Chayces footy? Seems to be a player with massive confidence issues and would think (speculate) his headspace is often dominated by how he is playing, mistakes etc. An extremely disappointing year this year.

Having another more important aspect of your life and thinking less about footy could actually help him….perhaps it’s just wishful thinking..

Where’s Roos other kids?
Thought he has at least 25 for us?

Still searching for an answer on what areas we have for indigenous talent. It is blatantly unfair if we only have a small part of the state and yet clubs like north have had whole of Tasmania or western bulldogs much of western Victoria. Surely state should be divided into two between ourselves and power

Does anyone know what is happening here? Will it change with new rules or stay the same and what is our specific area atm? Are our two clubs positioning for change?
