Half time VC by a point.
Very scrappy game, NSW/ACT lads look to be more physically developed to my eye probably because most are from the Swans/GWS Academies.

Mitch Stevens has taken a couple of decent marks and had a few touches, still lightly built and looks like he'll be a smaller unit than his old man Mark....kicking looks very decent.
Looks like more of a flanker.

#18 Mitchell Stevens (Gippsland Power)
Defender | 184cm | 15/08/2007

Adelaide fans and recruiters alike will be watching Stevens closely, with the son of premiership Crow Mark tracking nicely. As he has done for Gippsland Power, Stevens plied his trade in defence where he offered a dual-threat of intercept and rebound play. He marked well overhead and worked into dangerous positions to overlap in transition, repeatedly attacking through the corridor.

How tall is Stevens and where do we see him playing

Jeffcrowe Mutineer
184cm at last pre-season measuring and I've only seen him play HBF/Back Pocket bearing in mind that was as a mostly 16 year old so likely to be still growing. It wull be interesting if he gets moved further up the field in his top age year.
Looks taller in that photo from the Crows Academy than he did for Gippy Power last season.

You likely to see him play live this year?

Probably if the Power play here locally at Mars Stadium, CE Brown Reserve or Alfredton Sports Centre which is very likely without seeing the 2025 CTL schedule yet. Everyone can stream the CTL games via the app if they're interested

bigman how tall does Stevens look standing next to AFC listed players at training? And has he just been in the fitness/skills drills or has he got a run in match sim?
He's already played a handful of senior games last season for Heyfield in the pretty strong North Gippsland Football League. Kicked 3 goals in one of his games so that would likely suggest he's played some forward at that level Made the bests in 2 of his 5 games.

He will need to make the Vic Country side to be a serious prospect you'd think.

There's quite a few players on AFL teams that never made Nationals representative teams or even initial squads. Off the top of my head we've got 2 youngsters that are showing plenty of promise that fall into that category in Luke Nankervis and Charlie Edwards. A lot depends on what players are available in their best position.

You'll be pleased to know Mitch is in the the Vic Country 24 man summer hub training squad, that would indicate he's highly rated and every chance for a spot later in the year.

He only featured in some sessions early on in preseason - I haven’t seen him since the Christmas break.

He’s a decent size, at a guess I’d say 185-186cm so not as tall as his dad. He’s lean and athletic looking though. Skills looked solid and has some dash about him.
