Bloody hell, that was a shit performance from the Penguins, how could you possibly lose to the Islanders of all teams.

Crosby's missed shot in the shootout really was their chance to win, but he had a shokcing night, and his streak ends.

Oh well, thank god the Rangers won to give me some profit for today.

I like 2 games today;

1. St Louis to WIN in normal time @ 2.10.

2. Columbus to WIN @ 1.83.

The St.Louis bet is a little risk, taking normal time instead of straight out, but I think they will cover Phoenix quite easily, especially on home ice.

As for Columbus, I'm confused by these odds, as Ottawa have been really struggling, especially away from home, while Columbus have won their past 2, and have publicly stated they are desperate to improve their home record, which isn't that bad actually.

Best of luck.:)

Great start to 2011 NHL betting.:thumbsu:

Although, in true NHL style, it wasn't easy, as Columbus blew a 3-0 lead to allow the game to go to overtime, only to score 2 minutes in.

And the Blues, well, where do we start, 4-0 up early in the last, and they win 4-3.:eek:

Ok, Winter Classic day, with the game in a little doubt, but still, it's a great thing to watch the pros play outdoors, this times at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

Today's Bets;

Boston - WIN @ 1.91

Ottawa - WIN @ 1.80

Pittsburgh - WIN @ 1.74

Pitts & over 5.5 @ 3.30

I like Boston away from home, and Buffalo haven't been home in that long its like a road game anyway.
Ottawa were very good the other day, unlucky to lose in OT to a very good Columbus team away, so they should account for the Leafs.

And the Classic, I was leaning towards the Caps, but the crowd will be so intense in Pittsburgh (its the Steelers stadium) that I think this will create a high scoring game where the Penguins win, maybe even in OT or a shootout.

Enjoy the winter classic, I know I will.:)

2 "value" bets for today;

Vancouver - WIN @ 2.10

Chicago - WIN @ 2.15

These are 2 of the best teams in the whole NHL, and while they are both playing away from home, against sides with good home records (Kings and Sharks), the odds just seem too juicy.

The Kings have been terrible for a while now, and the Hawks are the better team, despite losing a few games in a row themselves.

Carolina is the other "bet of the day", but @ 1.59, it seems just a tad short, although I might include it in a multi with one or both of the above teams.

I don't like backing against my Kings, but the Hawks are value here.

Why is minnesota $2.15 Against new jersey tommorow..?

not sure, im not very in the loop with nhl, i make all my plays based on steam movements and take the very good odds that sportingbet offer compared to Pinnacle, as sporting are very slow to update to the correct odds.

im waiting for Minnesota to crunch in and if they do il jump on at the odds you quoted.

theres a couple players listed as probable for the Devils, and doubtfulfor Minnesota, so perhaps that is the reason.

I've taken;

Colorado - WIN @ 1.75

Detroit - WIN @ 1.70

I'm a fan of the way Colorado play, and although they have lost their last 2 games, they come home against the very inconsistent Sabres, who might even get blown out here.

Detroit also have lost their last 2, which is a shock to most, but away to Edmonton, one of the worst teams in the NHL, 1.70 seems like a decent price, and a price you don't get on the RedWings too often against a team with a losing record.

I was going to back Washington today also, but I just don't know if they will have a "letdown" after the winter classic.

l've got $10 on Washington into Detroit at odds of 2.54 to 1. l've found taking 3 teams is asking for trouble as l'll pick 2 winners but not the 3rd. Hopefully by taking the "dont be to greedy approach" l might be able to get a bit of a nest egg going...lol

Tampa Bay @ 2.45 cashes
I'm annoyed at myself for not taking that, you had the feeling the caps would have a let down after their big winter classic performance, but damn, it was still close.

Detroit now up 3-1, cmon Colorado, do the same please, get a break.:)

Atlanta 2.05

had a steam triggered play last night from a book hitting at 72% on the season, couldnt ignore that. Florida has since had a bit of love overnight, but im backing the early movement.

Rangers will win aswell but their too short for me
