Any reasonable person can understand that Nick is a star, will likely win a brownlow and have an amazing career.

However, he isn’t GOAT calibre, those sort of players have to burst onto the scene like Reid has.

If Nick does become the GOAT I will absolutely watch on enviously and enjoy his work, but it is a ridiculous assertion given he’s not been the best player for even one season of his career yet.

If you polled 100 football fans, coaches, analysts, whatever who they'd take out of Reid or Daicos for the remainder of their careers, how many are taking Nick? Maybe 15-20 of that 100 and most of them would have a Collingwood lense.

No that’s actually fair, I don’t know then. Maybe this thread is more reasonable than I first considered. I just don’t see it. I see him winning a brownlow and being a magpie great but not necessarily near the GOAT talks.

We've accepted our shortcomings as a supporter base, the Pies fans are still desperate to make their case why their players are the greatest of this generation and why their team is at least equals with the actual great teams of the 21st century such as Brisbane, Richmond, Hawthorn and Geelong.

Reality is Daicgul will forever be known as a Gul if he doesn't change his ways and your 2nd best player will likely be remembered as a societal pest when he no doubt gets arrested in Bali or Vegas in a few years time.

That's not enough now, and he needs contested marks, which apparently are a marker of the GOAT. Which is funny as the leaders in contested marks are not really ever in a GOAT discussion

Nick Riewoldt, Tom Hawkins, Jack Riewoldt and Travis Cloke. Only Franklin is in the discussion, and that's more because of is goal kicking.
