Game high 11 intercept possessions for IQ. Had a good game.

Definitely see JDG getting BOG.

Nick Daicos getting 2 votes in my book - our top two for tackles and clearances. Had a really good midfielder’s game.

Yeah Nicks game was solid and learning AFL midfield, I hope the end product "style like" is more Buckley then Pendles though.

Also have degoey BOG.

Probably Josh above Nick for overall impact on scoreboard.

The weekend’s game shifted my view about him as a midfielder.

Prior, I saw him as purely an outside, receiver, using his superior foot skills moving forward, but I was super impressed with his decision making in close. A couple of his handballs in tight were as elite as you’ll see from an inside midfielder feeding to a runner.

The kid is a really special talent - keen to see how Fly and the coaching staff utilise him as he gets himself bulkier.

+ Greenwood - he'd get my 2 votes.
I get that, but I had him standing back shoulder of JDG for a fair bit of the contest and like Gouk wasn’t convinced he impacted the contest all that much ball in hand. Solid in an Adams sort of way.

Killed it around stoppage. But if he was supposed to be curtailing Jordy on the defensive half of his role, he was smashed. It's why mids get all the votes. No-one really knows whether they're breaking down defensively, so they just get judged on offense.

the other quality that will help his inside game is his clean hands. The kid just does not fumble..

If I'm doing coaches votes it's probably

JDG
Nick Daicos
Larkey
Greenwood
Josh Daicos

I thought Nick still turned it over and looked over his shoulder a few times thinking he was under the pump. Still young and the next phase of improvement didnt think he was as good as people are making it out to be. but Not bad either.
How many cans did you sink yesterday?

Nick went at 84% efficiency yesterday and has the highest effective disposals in the league by a considerable margin.

And he's really aggressive with his ball use, so that's not just a defender playing it safe and thus having a high disposal efficiency. His ball use, awareness and work rate are off the charts.

Lachie Neale and Gary Ablett Jnr level clean hands. And we know how good they are in midfield

Let's face it other than the raw power of Dusty and JDG, he's got everything else at a ridiculously high level.

Hands and awareness like Greg Williams.
Runs like Ben Cousins. Kicks it like Lindsay Gilbee. He's just one out of the box.

Knows where the goals are too! Preposterous talent

9.4 to 7.4, will be interesting to see how that goes when Nick gets more midfield time. Nick seems to always kick at least one when he plays significant mid minutes
Nick is way more talented. No question at all.

That could be largely due to Josh having played slightly closer to the goals than him though.

Nick just about seems to kick a goal every time he touches the ball inside 50.
We are so lucky to have these two brothers.
Part of the reason we are so good lately.
Darcy Moore as well.
Maynard is a gun but looks out of sorts this year. Not saying he isn't playing well but yeah. Kind of out of his mojo.

I really hate this dichotomy because it is ridiculously unfair to compare anyone at all with the freakish talent Nick is. Josh is exceptionally talented too, more than most. Nick just happens to essentially appear a 'couple times per hundred years' sort of talent.

Even close to 10 years ago, Nick was being touted as a special talent.
We can see that that's exactly what he is, but by no means the finished product.
When he reaches his peak he will be scary good.
Josh took a while to find his way, but he is another special talent.
We are lucky to have them both.

Not so much talking about their productivity infront of goal. Talking about pure goal sense - Josh has already had a GOTY in 2020 and a GOTY nom in 2022. Even on the weekend, his goal sense was evident. He’s just special i50 when he has half a metre. A lot more like his old man than Nicholas.

Nick is no slouch either, but Josh is just next level. Will be a very handy forward later on in his career when his midfield days are over.
