Yes but not next year. Being captain is a big job these days, on and off the field. Let him get 100+ games under his belt first.

The reality this year is that we are an injury to Nick Daicos away from being a bottom 8 team. The poor or inconsistent form of many of our players has created a real over reliance on this kid.
Can't remember a pies player single handedly carry the team like he has since Buckley.
Hard to believe this is a kid who is still developing his game. Been truly amazing!

Nick haters reckon he missed targets with those first 2 kicks when he kicked that goal in the last. The first kick he meant to kick on the outside of his foot. He always does that. The second one was a perfect kick to Bobby who dropped a chest mark. Haters gonna hate.

You must have read the comments on the same FB post as me. Was astounded that anyone could consider two kicks that directly hit the intended players as “missed targets”. Especially the one to Hill, he literally weighted it perfectly so that it would land on Bobbys chest directly between two suns players, but apparently it’s his fault Bobby spilled it

Point was I didn't hate him just because he played for Geelong. I enjoy watching stars from other teams play. Yet people constantly hate on Nick who is glorious to watch.
These poor people have NDDS - Nick Daicos Derangement Syndrome. It can become chronic if not treated early.

It’s the Collingwood effect. Most people can appreciate great players from other clubs like Bont, Petracca etc. put a player in black and white stripes though and the inherent hatred takes over. It’s pretty sad, but tbh I reckon criticism from nuffies will just motivate Nick to become even better. He’s driven to become the complete player.
It was the same with his dad. Just that the sooks taking potshots at him were in the outer where we could shut em up...social media gives everyone a platform and hate and jealousy is so easy on it.
