Lol, throwing words around without knowing what they mean.

I bet you think Ash Johnson's style is "laconic" too.
i know exactly what it means. A player got preferential treatment for no other reason other than his name.

Might not be the exact definition but the principal remains the same. “Privilege” a better word for you?

I’m not attacking Collingwood or Daicos. He’s magnificent.

But the father son rule is the worst rule in the game.

Nick Daicos

Had 7 games with over 30 possessions
Kicked 7 goals

2023 - 6 games to date

Can we please, pretty please, stop talking about possessions like it matters?

Aside from Super Coach or whatever that shit is, in isolation a 'posession' means absolutely fu** all.

But they didn't get any "preferential treatment" if it's a rule and it applies to every club and every player equally.

Father/Son is the best rule in the game. Shit post.

I agree. A lot of useless stats by players out to gather. Ablett Jr used to do it, but he’d be effective forward of centre as well.

Not preferential treatment club to club. Preferential player to player.

Rowell and Cadman have to go where they’re told. Daicos and Ashcroft can go to their club or choice. How’s that fair?

It’s shit and has always been shit.

I've never seen a player stamp his mark on the competition as quickly as Nick has. With all due respect not even Judd was dominating like this in his second year

Judd was dominant. A high impact player. With respect to Nick, I couldn’t have him anywhere near Judd in a comparison. Judd was explosive, and he’d hit the scoreboard often with multiple goals.

He's a gun. And I was guilty of thinking he gets a few cheapies but he really doesn't. Watching today he provides the wide option when team needs a bail out hand ball short chip but than links play up can go forward and wins one on ones. Every one of his possies is linked to game situation
He may not stand out as he doesn't have the Judd explosiveness or Ablett speed and strength but a gun. Unbelievable skills and footy IQ outstanding

A Port Adelaide and Gold Coast fan think the father son rule is crap. Who would have thunk that!!

Daicos put up 35 touches and 1.5 goals a game from midfield in juniors. Numbers we haven't seen from a junior prospect maybe ever. Is that because of preferential treatment? And yes it's entirely relevant, because it's what recruiters use to analyse who the best players in the draft are and why he likely goes number 1 in the draft if not for the father son rule. Your analogy only works if he's not an AFL player if not for his dad. He had to have gotten a position/job at the expense of someone more deserving on talent/merit.
What did he actually on the game in the first 3 quarters. Did he create or have a hand in the 6 goals up to 3/4 time. Maybe you need to think about it a bit more
Nick had 9 score involvements in the game. So outside his 2 goals, thats 7, which was 4th best on the field. For a HBF.

These are the top disposal winners from the Saints v Blues game on Sunday. Highest AF scores from both sides.

Not our fault your legends didn't **** their wives enough.

He was damaging late, he was not damaging all day long. If you seriously think he was damaging all day long you didn’t watch the game
Let it go mate. Pretty much everyone that watched today’s game thought he was BOG except for you.

4 different experts voting for the BOG medal had him as BOG.

You’ve got your opinion, but it doesn’t mean everyone else has to accept it.

Sooo no reasonable argument. You know I’m right ;)
The reasonable argument is the familial traditions carried forward that enriches the connection between the supporters and the team. Which makes the game different to the corporate sterility of professional sports in the States. You can think that type of thing is not worth much all you like, the team you support makes it pretty clear why you are against it.

He had every right to go high in the draft. The preferential treatment is that he had a say in where he went.

If Harley Reid averages 50 touches and 10 goals a game, does he get to pick his club of choice?

Take emotion out of it. Daicos is yours. But you know it’s a bullshit rule.
