Welcome Nick! Happy with this roll of the dice. One year deal, experienced, probably low cost, and can provide some great traits for our backline if he gets picked. More depth/backup signing id say.

The gastric stuff that he went through sounds terrible, I hope if he’s got a year or two left he can find some form of yesteryear and surprise some. Dogs were after him year after year at one point, when he was on top of his game.
Looking forward to seeing him in navy blue.

didnt play much this year, has he been injured ?
17 games at both levels. Fared better than I'd realised, with some absolutely commanding VFL performances.

Can definitely help us for a year or two, unlike every other defensive tall signing we've made over the last 4-6 years.

from Austin:

“durability is a key asset we are really looking to add to our playing list during the off-season”

Best news I’ve heard from Blues all year………………………

Funk: Nick, what are you looking for in players?
Austin: Er, Dur...... ablity!

5 years ago this would have been epic.

Don't think he is best 22 next year but I guess he's more reliable than Marchbank.
If he can get on the park, his disposal and game sense alone will be worth it.
He won't need 30 disposals to have an impact. Half that will still make a difference to our backline.

Congratulations Nick on being the 10th member of the almighty 2015 GWS Giants to join Carlton.

With Adam Tomlinson looking for a new home and Dylan Shiel potentially excess at Essendon, could we make it a dirty dozen? The sky id the limit here...
Shiel could be Austin's 2024 F3 special? Lol
