Anyway, this is a disgrace and pure cash driven arrogance. The big 3 should be promoting the others, not ignoring them.

Imagine Australia dropping out of the Top 6 and for at least three years hosting West Indies, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh with no Ashes or BGT home or away. Boxing Day vs Ireland. Can't wait. The sheer arrogance of Australia, India and England to believe this would never happen (all have had terrible Test teams in my lifetime), or that if it did, they'd just wangle it so it would be OK.

And what of probably West Indies and Sri Lanka? - established Test nations stuck in a loop of playing nobody in front of nobody with nobody watching on TV because no broadcasters could care less. It would be the final nail in Test cricket's coffin in those countries.

And what other countries would invest in cricket knowing that they'd start at the bottom and stay there for forever? All this two-tier nonsense would only serve to make England, Australia and India stronger, solve nothing in other established Test countries, and kill it off everywhere else.

It's a thoroughly stupid idea.

nothing surer and to be honest theres been a 2 tier system happening for years. This is more just formalising it
Yep. It's a rough situation as player development must be limited unless, as mentioned above, talented youngsters migrate to countries desperately needing them, such as England have done over many decades.

😜

It would be funny if it weren't true.

I guess the same thing happens in Rugby. Whilst Rugby or is it Union, I can't remember what officiandos call it. NZ, SA & UK it's a huge sport, whereas here it's a Sport we play. Still sits behind AFL, League, Cricket, Basketball and probably Swimming and Netball in terms of hearts, minds & eyeballs.

100% correct Kiwi Roo. I was about to post Williamsons stats with the other 2 but ran out of time to do that having to go to work. He has great figures without a doubt.
Averages less than 37 against us. Excellent player, brilliant human, but let's face facts. He has great figures in the 2's, when it counts (against us ie: The 1's), he's very good.

Where and against who, matters. Joe Root would be about a 45 on our decks (these days) and large grounds. He gets 4 for beating the field, maybe they are 2's here. Those pitches are pretty slow, don't really turn that much.

Basically roads, bordering on highways with 60m boundaries.

All this must be fed into your computer before making such a sweeping and frankly incorrect statement.

Mark Waugh was a legit awesome allrounder. Took a 5 for with Mediums and a 5 for with off spin in international one day cricket. Also without a shadow, one of best fielders to ever play the game. To say Joe (Ellen DeGeneres) Root is good enough to tie old mates boots up, is a huge call. Enormous call. Yeah he might have a better record, so does Javed. Doesn't for one minute make him better in my eyes.

I take it you have been sledged by Danny Waugh? So I'm taking my word as genuine fact! Not that it matters.

But me caring for Joe Root is akin to me giving a shit about Lloydy or Jimmy Hird... I just wouldn't care. I'll maybe worry about him next summer.
The conditions over the last 10 years in UK have always been trickier to bat on than most of the roads in Australia. So many people struggle against the moving ball over there. Root has played many tests in UK and even with the last 2 years and bazball having more flatter pitches Root has played the majority of his tests against the swinging ball or spin conditions in Asian countries. He hasnt performed at his best in Australia but I think that is down to good bowling attacks and being under constant pressure with the poms struggling when they are over here.
I wouldnt be surprised if he rights that next year.
Big grounds or small grounds dont bother Root as he works the ball around the field more than over it so the bigger grounds should suit him. Most of the Aussie grounds are roped of these days anyway

It's nuts! He won't have one next IPL. Should be playing grade cricket and spending some time in the middle, this is doing more harm than good for him.
He’ll be right.
So many T20 comps around for him to make his cash.
Mcgurk game is garbage - can’t rotate the strike and just tries to bash every ball

When was Mcgurks last score? Kids horribly out of form but keeps getting played.

Doesn't surprise me. His style of cricket is hit or miss. He's living of a few good games in last years BBL and junior reputation.

Had a teamate who played aussie championships against him and said he was an arrogant figjam who bagged all his opponents.
