Why on earth was Warner given a commentary job?

Doesn't offer much insight.
He's tiring to listen to, does not have a presentation voice.
The box isn't set up for 4 presenters like they've tried to squeeze him into at times throughout the day.

I know our mob are trying to protect wickets but man they are letting some poor deliveries go unpunished.

Rana has bowled some avg half volleys and Labuschagne and McSweeney are letting the lob through to the keeper.
Given LBC form, will take a slow still-there at-stumps over a attacking-30/40

Gilchrist: he (marnus) is a fraction behind with the shot, but that will improve with every ball he survives.

No. No he won't. He's just too slow. It sucks when time catches up with us, but it happens. Funny, becuase gilchrist called time at about exactly when you should, it starts to go, but you're far from embarassing yourself.

Well, only the first day but thats a shite sight better than the previous test so far. Getting them for less than 200 and only losing 1 for almost half their total at what should be the harder time to bat.

That being said, i still wouldnt bat an eye to getting bundled out for 150 from here, but so far so good.

We've got this sillygit. I had a feeling Starc would get a wicket first ball and that we'd go on to level the series. I'm very confident.

I will be 95% happy if we do.

But there will be a 5% that will be a little upset that it could kick the can down the road for replacing some of the older batsmen.

You talking about 30 yr old Marnus? Time has caught up either him?
Reaction time, both him and smiths batting technique specifically rely heavily on incredibly fast reaction time. So does top level batting regardless. When it starts to slip it shows heavily, and it already is.

Amazing collapse by NZ in the cricket after Brook scored another amazing 100. He is a real talent. Now Atkinson has just taken a hat trick. Atkinson and Carse are a force to be reckoned with. Pace and skill. The ashes will be very interesting. If Wood and Archer are back as is looking more and more likely thats going to be a real quick bowling attack

You any good at Golf commentary as I'm starting to wonder about your feelz in both footy and cricket.

34 maybe, certainly not 30... although old mate Marnus is back to being Marnoos Laboos..Kachneee rather than the Aussie version Marnass LuboShane recently in my house, anyway.

Not a fan of golf. Not talking "feelz".

2 from 52 delieveries and a long list of failed innings around that. How many does it take to get your eye in?

I feel lol, the situation called for some watchfulness! I'm firmly in the camp of the "Scoreboard Never Lies" - let's see how he goes today, you're bang on, he has been 'very Zimbo' but maybe he'll come to the party today and make a big ton. Hopefully, as there doesn't appear to be that much coming, in the long form.

I do hope he scores, im just not banking on it. And i think the reason is reflective of the diminishing returns. He's either gunna have to change something up or make way. This is a home series too, usually the time for the batsmen to make hay, but it's a drought.
