Analysis No DH Policy

"No Dickhead Policy" is one of the worst and most overused phrases to have entered footy discussions. Every team that claims it eventually gets outed when one of their players goes drink driving or parties too hard one time.

With Jesse, you know this is going to blow up.
“For his despicable act of deliberately trying to spread COVID in WA, Jesse Hogan should be sent to jail for life, and the Fremantle Dockers to be disbanded” - Hackdorn probably

The media will be looking for any excuse to publish another Jesse Hogan scandal. And the bin chicken supporters down the road will be all too pleased to supply the evidence if he slips up. He is the only one I'm currently worried about.
Called it.

The problem is he would know the media will make it a big issue and then suddenly it is one for the club. It's what happens when you get a little baggage behind you.

If this was Hughes nobody bats an eyelid, they just do a statement, he serves his time and everyone moves on. With Jesse, you know this is going to blow up.
Fair call, I suppose that’s his own doing as well but it’s probably not really fair. In terms of COVID breaches this is about as small as it gets to me, should be treated as such, but you're right, Hogan wont get that leeway due to his own fault

Considering we had players at the start of the season breach WA COVID protocols, does this count as our second?

Will the AFL be imposing a $25K - $50K fine for a second breach?

Huge if this is true.

I don't think the AFL will care. Freo are out of the AFL bubble now. He's just broken the WA protocols.

Given the way the media treated Nat Fyfe for surfing earlier in the year, they will tear Hogan apart.

What chances? What has he possibly done. He hardly committed anything this time. The media will blow this up. But I’m sure Hogan is remorseful.
he is supposed to be in quarantine, like every other person from interstate. he got a chick over because he couldn't cop two weeks alone. the bloke's entitlement is unreal: some people have family they haven't seen for a year outside their quarantine wall... this guy just wanted a cheap shag off instagram.

maybe he uh, shouldn't have done the wrong thing?

the fact is no other player on our list does such dumb shit. he's been photographed munted in town, gurning as Father Christmas.

Cam McCarthy hung around some unsavoury sorts at some pretty scummy venues. Luke Ryan and Brennan Cox are lads. Brad Hill liked socialising a bit. you never heard much of them, and definitely never saw much of them.

I'm halfway there on your opinion. My point was more comparing how hard some sections of WA media went at Fyfe with his good reputation, imagine what they'll do to Hogan.

With someone like Ryan and Cox, yeah they seem to keep it largely under control but you're only one bad night or one compromised photo away from being thrown in the Cam McCarthy or Jesse Hogan bucket. This may seem like I'm having a go at Ryan and Cox but I'm more trying to say give the Hogan's of the world a bit more benefit of the doubt.

In light of the AFL players already getting caught up in the off season (Crouch & Stengel with illicit substances, Bennell getting carried away in an ambo, Watts crashing a car and not reporting it), who are the DH’s/party boys still on our list that need to pull make sure they’re not caught this off season?

We’ve been pretty mindful of selecting players with good character recently and we’ve moved on Bennell and Billy last season, Carter and Dardy this season. Hogan, Hamling, Ryan and Cox to me seem to be the only ones who might get caught something they shouldn’t.

So, who (if any) do you think would get caught in the off season doing something they shouldn’t? We’ve seems to weed out most of the mischief makers.

Hamling???
