Renegades showing how truely pathetic the Scorchers batting was. They have really messed up with some of the signings this year and the batters they let go.

Evans is a big loss but the other batters we lost since last season were not adding much at all imo. Hardie is a big loss but you can’t plan for that.

As a general rule however I’ll say the overall impact of a ‘star big hitter’ international recruit in the BBL has been limited at best. Teams have been far more successful recruiting good solid players to play roles within the team rather than the guys that supposedly win the game themselves - in practice they only seem to win one game a season if that.

Finn Allen, the biggest flop in Scorchers import history.
While he might have an occasional game winning innings, learn a lesson ya numpty and at least get a gauge of the wicket before you shut your eyes and try tee off

This is not an accurate reflection of what has happened. It wasn't 'pathetic'. Huge seam movement.

The bat flip is having a huge say on games at the moment. The ball was moving all over the place for the scorchers first four overs or so. No similar movement later on in second innings.

Allen's failures putting huge pressure on the rest of the side currently.

Also, wth is going on with Morris? Rightly dropped after that pathetic performance in Tassie.

Ok fair enough. I was on my way home from work so didn’t see the scorchers bat the first 13 overs. However did watch the Tassie match and they seemed to be just as bad that game so yeah you may be right about the bat toss.

One thing is certain though. Cooper is going to be something.

He is a bit like Warner in that he can hit good length balls on 4th or 5th stump for 4 (or even 6) as easy as kiss my hand. Makes him hard to bowl to at first class level just as much short formats.

Of course it will cause him to nick off in important test matches occasionally at the least opportune moment to our collective red faced teeth grinding frustration..

This has to be one the biggest Boxing Day test of my life time i reckon apart from 2010 when the Poms and us were 1-all and we got rolled on that horrible day and gave up the Ashes.

Normally the series is over by Boxing Day and it's just an annual event.

But Australia hasn't had so much riding on a Boxing Day result since that game careers are on the line and in a way legacies as well.

This group despite winning a lot wouldn't want to lose 3 series in a row at home against India.

For anyone not watching. Konstas is 47 from 46 and took 18 from Bumrah's last over.
He's played a ramp, a reverse ramp, a clean six over mid on, and shown a solid defence as well.
And a little bit of argy bargy with Virat for good measure. Not a bad first hour of your Test career in front of 80k.

How refreshing.... an opener that is aggressive and wants to score.

Sam Konstas:

I can't remember who said Konstas would struggle against Bumrah but I don't think it was Snuff as I originally posted.

Anyway, that was as good a first-up, run a ball 60 as I've seen in a while. Loved it when Howard interviewed him at drinks and he said he hoped Bumrah was coming back on.

I might have said i was worried about Bumrah bringing it back in to him to be fair but regardless, "struggle against Bumrah" is universal anyway.

I have been strong on him being a very special talent which was evident from every first class innings this year. Rare ability to play the ball all around the ground combined with as much time to play the ball as a batter I can remember.

Feel for McSweeney but Bailey wasn't wrong in saying it's too much of the same in that top 4.

Also, Kohli needs to be suspended for multiple games. You can not let people physically intimidate other players on the field
Seriously, if Kohli is intimidating, you must be a pipsqueak.
He's a tiny, stick insect.
But agree that he should miss a test for that d1ck move

Edit: I didn't mean that you found him intimidating, by the way
