It's high time for the crows to properly lobby the VFL for our own Academy. I'm sick of Victorian and Northern clubs getting constant legs up in this rigged WWE style comp. Lets face it, what 'advantage' does being an Adelaide club get you nowadays?
Imagine being able to get Sid Draper as he was part of our Academy.
Whilst we are at it, lets get Greg Griffen to come in and rip our our shit 'constitution' so we can start again and be 100% fully member run. There is enough old money in Adelaide to make this happen. I'm sick of seeing random VFL appointed public service level gravy train seat warmers sit on our Board who have nothing more than an apricot slice level of interest in our club.
I'm sick of the weak acceptance of mediocrity and 'oh well, nothing we can do'.
Its time for a full blown awakening at the AFC. Start playing the game and getting ruthless. If your not playing the game, then you are getting played.
The time for proper accountability, scrutiny and performance is NOW.

Melbourne vs North a pretty noticeable 'scoring end' game.
10.2.62 for Melbourne in Q1 and Q3, North kicked 7.5.47 in Q2 and Q4. 17.7.109 to the scoring end.
Both teams combined only kicked 4.4.28 to the other end.

So despite the AFC’s struggles this season, you still have yet to concede scores as high as Poort have for example (twice), your biggest loss was last week (42) against the all conquering league leaders. You are ahead of them in the SANFL and have owned them at AFL level for 2 years.
This is despite the handicap (coach) and the bottom 6 he insists on selecting each week.
Very frustrating to put it mildly! Hopefully Neil when he arrives will impart some decent knowledge and wisdom and get things moving in the right direction.

Reckon the '2 week ban' for Harley will be a blessing in disguise too, has given the kid a nice mid season freshen up and can attack the second half of the year.
Yeah, we were expecting a week, 2 was annoying. He’ll hopefully have learnt from it (as well as his first experience with a ‘tag’).

Watch out for Lions & Dogs if they make the finals, particularly Lions who are on the move after a slow start.

Port clinging onto a top 8 spot by a thread at the moment. Equal wins and 0.6% better than Melbourne. If they hadn't managed to get that late goal against Brisbane it would essentially be a tie between them.
Channel 7 news here showed the Port Fans meltdowns last night and tonight Graham defending Ken against the “fickle fans”.

Ignoring the various 4th round picks that got swapped along the way, they essentially gave up their 2024 first round pick (which is looking potentially valuable given their current form) plus picks 41 and 49 to get Ratugolea, Soldo and Sweet.
Separately, Zerk-Thatcher was a direct swap for Duursma.
The JHF trade was seen as a win for Port and I guess deservedly so, but they had to trade away essentially two year's worth of picks to get him (and Junior Rioli). That left them short on picks to trade for the fab four last year, and forced them into this year's draft.
Over two years:
Port give up: Their 2024 1st round pick, plus their entire 2022 and 2023 draft hands, plus Duursma
Port receive: Horne-Francis, Rioli, Zerk-Thatcher, Ratugolea, Soldo, Sweet
