And much quality game and Carlton weren't hit by injuries to key players, tonight was who could do the less mistake will win.
Carlton could be Victoria's only hope in 2024. A decent chance we'll have a non VIC GF.
Yeah this. Been waiting for Carlton to fall away for a couple of years now. They've got some real average players outside their top 5, who have just been in good form. Curnow, cripps and McKay carry that team.
They were woeful after half time. Did Walsh have 1 effective disposal?
Port are so average and it's remarkable that they're top 4. They weren't even good tonight except for their pressure after half time.

I have them finishing 8th with 2 more wins, if they get 3 wins they come 5th, 1 win 10th

Carlton struggled after drinking bathwater on all 5 days of their break...of course I only know Carlton only had a 5 day break as I researched it because the commentary team barely mentioned it

The idea is to grow the sport. Potentially in 20 years the sport is in a stronger position with NSW / QLD producing more talent.

Looking at our schedule we probably wouldn't have made the 8 even if we had 3 more wins at this point. So our bad start probably hasn't robbed us of a chance.
From what a couple of Port posters commented in the new coach thread on our board (including a mod) there is a genuineness to the talk, it isn’t just the usual antics by his manager.

They can't go out in straight sets if they don't finish top 4 though.
No problems growing into NSW/Queensland but it should have come at the expense of some of the Victorian clubs - not just keep adding more teams.
Ten teams based in Victoria in the elite national competition is ludicrous.
It is fascinating how Victorians view Port over the last 10 years. It's really positive despite the negativity here in SA. Vics struggle to analyse anything outside of SA so I guess it makes sense. Just look at a win loss record and that's enough.
