So Allegedly it was a Saints fan who threw the bottle, was aiming at a Carlton fan but missed and it hit the umpire.

Wonder if the AFL will mention more about it

Its complete idiocy. This could lead to mesh fencing behind the goals. What a dumbass. Should be a life ban. I also struggle to believe someone could miss by that much with enough force to hit an umpire metres in another direction.

Looks like we are both wrong random Port poster on a Crows forum 😂…11 wins I think?

West Coast, Richmond x 2, North, Adelaide, Melbourne, Freo x 2, Essendon, St Kilda x 2…or am I missing one?

Top 8:

Sydney - 112pts W
Geelong - 6 pts W
GWS - 23 pts L
Brisbane - 79 pts L
Bulldogs - 48 pts W
Hawthorn - 1 point W
Carlton - 14 point W, 36 point L…

Hmmm - not that it changes my opinion that Port win it, but 12 of their wins were against bottom 8 sides in the end. Interesting. Still, they have peaked at the perfect time, and everyone else is awful / flakey..

I still can’t trust Port when it comes to finals

We have seen this rodeo before

No, they donn't have the cattle. Good midfield, terrible forward line, average defense.
Different feel to Pear this year to other years they've bombed in finals. Midfield is that bit more experienced and bats deep. Forwards and backs are average footballers with the exception of Georgiadis. Their strength is that they combine so well. Play for each other, the jumper, their coach. They have in spades what we lack. Passion, the will to win every contest.
Maybe time to re-evaluate our opinions of Ken. 4 finals campaigns in 5 years is no fluke.
Having said all that, straight sets once again will salvage something from this ****ing forgettable season.

So under Nicks we have had 2 wins 6 losses and a draw? So we have been in the competition for 28 years (with Port in it) and he has provided over 25% of those 23 losses.

The man is a ****ing genius.

I thought Freo had a good list and need a fresh coach. They don't, fall of fumble merchants who can't handle pressure.

Longmuir got a one year extension to take the pressure off this year after failing to make finals last year. He won’t be coaching them in 2026 if they don’t perform next year.

We, on the other hand, decided it was better to give our coach a two year extension even tho he hadn’t got the team into any finals at all.

****ing genius administration.

Port v Geelong
Bulldogs v Hawthorn
Sydney v GWS
Brisbane
v Carlton

Geelong v Hawthorn
Sydney
v Brisbane

Port v Sydney
GWS v Hawthorn

Port v GWS Grand Final.
(Tickets will be Buy 1, Get 1 Free)

So if Sydney do beat GWS, and assuming games go according to plan, then we could have the Power playing either Brisbane or GWS in a Preliminary Final. Now that could be interesting.

They only played the top 7 teams only once. Got double ups against teams ranked 8 and below. Now of those 6 games played against top 7, only played two away - Geelong and GWS. All the other 4 at home (Big wins against Swans and Bulldogs but close win against Hawks and a flogging from Brisbane).

**** me, how do they keep on doing it.

You may think they are a shoo in for the GF but without Houston and Farrell I’m not so sure.

Collingwood just had to win one of their 2 draws to play finals.
They deserve to miss finals. When your wins are constantly resulting from comebacks and close games, it catches up with you eventually. A truly great team doesn't leave its opponents in a winning position late in the game - it wins comfortably.

To highlight what a close year it was, if Hawthorn didn't choke against Port they would have finished 2nd instead of 7th and would have played Port at the MCG in the first week of finals.
Hawthorn are probably the best team in the 8 right now.

I dunno, I wouldn't underestimate Port at the minute.

They seem a bit different this year, I'd almost have them as lock for the GF at this stage.

They finished 1st in 2020 with a percentage of 136% and couldn't even make the GF. Went 14-3 in the H&A and won eight out of their last nine games.

Followed that up finishing 2nd in 2021 going 17-5 with a percentage of 126% and also couldn't make the GF. Won nine out of their last ten coming into finals.

Finished 3rd last year going 17-6 with 113% and went out in straight sets. They won 13 games in a row in the middle of the season.

This year they are 16-7 with 115%. If anything they are not as good this year.

JHF is the difference this year.

He has been the catalyst for a few late season wins. Now starting to get 25 plus disposals and a couple of goals a game.

Hard to tag out as he is a physical player and can shift momentum.

The opposite to Butters who only plays to a high level when he Port are on top. He is not a momentum changer.

JHF is.

I still think Sydney, GWS and even Hawthorn are better than Port. Mainly because these teams have a better spread of talent.

But can see Port making the GF.

Think you are underselling Butters, he’s been the difference many times
