We would all take the Dees record of the past decade over ours... but this discussion is about how they are travelling now.
Yes, I understand

I'm pointing out the sheer idiocy of critiquing a post-premiership and post-top four blip when either of those things are distant memories for us.

It depends on whether you hold the coach responsible for those things i guess.

It's clear there's some pretty significant issues at the club, and probably were during their premiership year too. Who is to blame ??

Does that mean we can only discuss 3 teams?
No one is trying to compare us to them, just stating facts that Melbourne are on the slide.
Everyone would take Melbournes record since Covid over ours.

Who gives a flying shit how premierships are won?

Every sporting team in history hasn't just won continual premierships for eternity under the same coach

Yep so therefore we can't talk about the current cluster that is Melbourne because we haven't won one.

Got it.
Or we can understand that the amount of criticism Goodwin cops comically outweighs the levels of criticism of other coaches who have won and achieved less

Can you fill me in on what the knock on Goodwin is specifically? Obviously there are issues at the club. Is is just a general thing like "the club is bad and has culture problems, something must be wrong with the coach", or is there something specific that Goodwin is being accused of?

Too rigid, too defensive, unwilling to change, very 'boys club' culture.

Off field culture is a TOTAL mess at the Dee's.

Sir Alex Ferguson has entered the chatroom. 38 Trophies for United - Close to Eternity. :$

So we can't comment on other sides because the Crows are shit?

That would make for a very quiet thread...

If we didnt talk about Port on this thread, there would be only 2-3 posts on here. :$
Thankfully they don't look like winning a flag under Hinkley which makes it much more bearable!

Appears the wheels have fallen off & key players want out.

Taken from a premiership & best side to out of a premiership window very quickly.

If Dees struggle again next season, imo his time will be up.
With the number of ex-Premiership coaches and GF coaches on the sidelines, you would think the Dees would definitely be exploring Simpson, Buckley and Horse at the very least, if the Dees continue to slide.

Hoping we are too!

I cant begin to tell you how many times over the 2020s, I get nervous around September.

Hinkley has fooled me in previous years in believing this is the year.

I think we are definitely in the clear now. Butters should probably leave this year or next, that distraction alone will be enough to screw them over.

Rozee and Francis are not enough to steer them to a flag.

Too many holes in their list imo.

Much prefer ours as believe we are better balanced.

Comfortably too. Our starting 18 is significantly better all around the ground (injury free) to theirs the last time we met.

We will break them in the next Showdown.

Would appreciate if any eager beavers out there if they could list the teams that played the last Showdown vs the potential Crows starting 18 in 2025 vs Port.

Dwayne polling well there.

It's funny, he's one of the most hated commentators on BF yet he's well-regared outside of the forum. Make of that you will.
Although it is a CH 7 v Fox television preference poll it was run by SEN.
So would be a fair bit of bias towards Dwayne I would think with his radio work.

Or we can acknowledge that the guy who broke a 57 year premiership drought at a lowly resourced club perhaps has something going for him

He did at the time, but the club is now not a good space.

Things can change quickly...
