Brid Stack, a player from Ireland. She's one of the stars of Gaelic football and 34 years old, so it's especially tragic to see her get injured in essentially her first ever game of footy.
Fingers crossed she will make a full and speedy recovery.

She's almost single-handedly held the very young Sturt side together the past couple of seasons.
Big loss.
I've been recently re-watching our 2017 AFLW campaign and Bevan was pretty handy back then. Nice to see her get another go at it!
Interesting that they've got Riley and Perkins up there as well. Big 2017 Crows flavour! They also had Thorn on their list last year. Somebody should check on Radan and Killian

Don't think Radan is on a list this year, but I think he's been at Melbourne and West Coast.

I don't know, from what I've seen of her on the field she goes about it the right way and doesn't have too much of an attitude. Doesn't fuss much, just presents at the ball and does her best. She can't control how she is rated externally.
Easy for us to think less of her too, since we've got Chelsea Randall who destroys Harris every time she plays on her. Last year we had to face her without Randall for the first time and she was dominant.
The main thing she did that I didn't like was leave Brisbane after only one season, which was pretty poor form considering she was there as a marquee player. They had just played off in a grand final, too.

It's not all her own fault she gets the attention she does.
But as a player she just isn't very good, and yeah leaving Brisbane like she did was very poor form.
Hard to judge Harris on a game like that given it was so defensive oriented plus she usually takes a couple of games to get into as she doesn’t play that much football at all nowadays (if she did I have no doubt she’d easily be the best key forward in the comp) & didn’t even play the practice match beforehand, no matter how talented you are and this probably will apply to quite a few teams and players who will play this weekend going straight into a season with no continuity or football played you don’t advance
Mostly agreed, yes. She's a decent player with a few very good attributes, namely lead-up marking and a long kick. If you can nullify her ability to lead at the ball (either with defensive structures, or by pressuring the midfield) then she contributes little.
I don't find her to be particularly arrogant or self-absorbed, but I've always felt bad for Brisbane losing both of their marquee players within two years and subsequently going from arguably the best side in 2017 to also-rans. I'd hate to think where we would be if Randall had just decided to leave after a year.

We saw last year exactly where we'd be, not very good.
There aren't really any KPF's that are super dominant though in the womens league though.
Maybe peak Erin Phillips, but she was a level above everyone in any position.
I suspect that this year, with better trained, more dominant mids, kicking better, the KPF position and the ability to grab the ball will become more prominent.

Gold Coast with the early jump on Melbourne.
It's so nice seeing Perkins back playing quality footy again. She's looking great, too, looks like she's dropped 10+ kg.
