Eventhough its a shitty thing to say, in context its no where near the worst ive heard.
Well, it's not personal is it? There's no real life context. May as we be a "I banged your Mum" or "Your girlfriend was at mine last night" type "nothing sledge" throw-away line.

It seems to me something else was said and both the MFC and BLFC are hiding it. Then the AFL got involved and dropped it like a hot potato. My guess is both teams said some unsavoury misogynistic comments, MFC realised straight away that it wasn't going to look good if what some of the Melbourne players said, (and leaked a red herring), BLFC agreed, then they AFL came charging in with their chests pumped up, heard the real story, and backed out quicker than they came in.

The truth is, misogynist stuff gets said between men about partners and Mums and it doesn't need to be public.

I still want to know so I can have an informed opinion. Like, if it's "the worst thing ever said" let's hear it....
Called him a Freo supporter

Really, regardless of what was said, this whole thing should put sledging to bed. Petty was so upset by what was said that he was literally in tears over it and it didn't help Brisbane at all. They still got flogged. Putting someone off their game by sledging is a myth.

Me too. Unless it's deeply personal, I just can't see anything being that bad.

If I was on the field (dominating of course) and some pin dick came up to me and said, "I'm going to rape your Mum", my answer would be "I always knew your were a nonce". If they got even more graphic and said they saw my GF on Only Fans with another girl and a cup, I'd be like "cool story bro".

I just don't see anything that works unless it's getting personal. Even then, it would have to be pretty bad not to be able to pretend it doesn't bother.

I think Phil needs get a second opinion and float that baby.

So I'll have a crack and guess it was something along the lines of his former partner being unfaithful and the child not being zorkos.

Personally I'm not into but it's not stoppable unless they mike up every player. I've never seen a player cry from a sledge and can't imagine anything that could be said to get that sort of reaction unless it's seriously personal. And generally those things are a secret.

Maybe it was something about zorkos mum shagging a midget hence the way he turned out
Zorko was angry all game. Carrying on like a pork chop and acting tough rather than letting his footy do the talking. I'd imagine stuff like that would get him upset and cause him to step it up a notch. But what did he say?

The "i banged your misses" type stuff is not really an insult. A bigger insult would be, "when you dropped that mark, Gawny was next to me and said "why do they keep giving that red headed campaigner a game?". But if it's performance based, why all the smoke and mirrors?

Some good ones from my day were "you were **** fed as a baby" and "go suck your mums ****"

Probably wouldn't fly nowadays

Nobody used to get overly heated. I'd love to know the calibre of insult we are talking about.

It better be good with all this build up. It'll come out over the next day or 2 and I bet I'm thoroughly disappointed.

Surely a response to “ your mums going to die “ is “ yeah she is and so is yours” not turn into a blubbering mess…. It was hardly an award winning sledge.

Now if Petty is feeling mentally fragile where is Melbournes duty of care playing someone who is suffering from mental health issues.

Zorko was pretty bad last year, with his tough man act and non stop yapping.

Stepped it up a notch this year.

And took it another level the week before against St Kilda. Then just lost the plot against Melbourne.

It's really detracted from his game, and our team as a whole.

I've no idea what else happened last Friday night. And the one person on our board who would know, has taken a sabaitcal as he couldn't stand the pile on by our fans.

I not only don't believe that would invoke a player to cry but I also don't believe someone would come up with that sledge. If Petty's mum was sick it would be like, " ok, someone went there". But she's not sick and I just don't buy that someone would use that as a sledge. And I don't buy that a player would tear up over it. It's sort of a sledge you expect from someone with Aspergers. It's something Harry Taylor would come up with. It would appear off key.

Yeah if someone on a footy field told me they hope my mum dies, no way I'd be in tears.
Either there's much, much more to this or Petty is a bit of a sook to let those words effect him that much.
