Gee - reckon Buddy's done. Doesn't chase, can't take a contested mark & doesn't have leg speed to separate from opponent. Even his kicking has gone backwards.
Bloke has the conditioning of an ammos ressie player. Definitely went on a few seasons too many and it's starting to tarnish his legacy. When was the last time he had a great season? 2014?

Freo vs Adelaide will be an interesting comparison in years to come of how to complete a rebuild.

Freo went for Mids>Defense, while Adelaide went for Forwards>mids

Not point defending well and getting it into your forwardline if nobody is there to kick goals, methinks.

Astute trading in Dawson and getting Rankine as a 'cream' player looks to have paid off.

Still a couple of years away from being a serious contender but the current signs are good.
Crows challenge is a replacement for Tex. They def did the right moves with drafting (Thilthorpe and Foley) but they need one or both to become consistent first.

Freo didn't even bother drafting talls, just hoped they could poach them in through McCarthy, Hogan and Lobb.

Darcy Fogarty has the makings of a reasonable Walker replacement. A couple of cms shorter but a bit like Darling is strong for his size

Reckon they’re better off with Rachele and the other draft picks they kept when North knocked back their offer for pick 1 they’d have used on JHF

Kicked fifty goals in both 2021 and 2022.

He looks done now but he was AA in 2018 and he kicked +50 goals in 2021 and 2022

Went to a comedy festival gig tonight and Brendan Fevola was in the crowd getting all matesy with the comedians

Thanks, I forgot about 2018.

That's interesting about 21 and 22, I didn't realise he had kicked so many. It feels like he can get on a role and kick a few bags in a season, but is lacking that consistent game breaking ability against good teams that he used to have. Kicked no goals in the qualifying and grand finals last year and only two in the prelim.

Feels like what we would get if we'd kept Kennedy around for another year or two.

Port winning is funny as heck. I know we are wanting them to lose for draft picks etc. But the fact that Hinkley & the Cornes' are celebrating sticking it to Tredrea this week is hilarious. Ken acted like they had won a GF and coached from the boundary. I love when a club like that shows that they listen to the outside noise and then put in a special effort to "prove people wrong" without understanding that a win like that just raises more questions around consistency and how come you can bring a spirited performance when you feel like its necessary?

imo unless Port win the flag (and even then I reckon he'd stand down, "my work here is done" sort of thing) Hinkley's a goner, surely those who run the club know he's had a long enough run at it. Bloody surreal reading their game day and post game threads tonight, they just beat last years runners up at their own home ground yet the threads sound like they're covering a funeral.

Is it wrong that I feel bad? From the purple's board:

Supporters are in it for the wrong reasons if all they care about is winning a flag. A week or two of celebrations and sore heads and move in to next year.

Much better to enjoy the odd win, try to ignore the losses and enjoy the game. I often enjoy watching neutral games more because of the lack of emotional involvement.

At the end of the day it’s entertainment and if you don’t like the show spend your entertainment dollars on something else.

Is it wrong that I feel bad? From the purple's board:
Deep down it is just a desperate attempt to justify their poor choice of club. Not a single Freo supporter has ever experienced the joy of their club winning a flag, it is looking very unlikely to happen this year, and they have zero faith or evidence to show that their club can do it, so this sort of take is just pure copium.

I have to say, we shit on AFL players that can't kick easy set shots. I'm at my first NBA game and the combined free throw percentage is 60. Making Darling look good!

See that’s just wrong… plenty of them saw their team win a flag or two.. it’s just a lot of them jumped ship after 1994 and haven’t been able to reconcile themselves for a crappy life choice since..

I reckon we win tomorrow. This season is a lot closer than many others. There doesn't appear to be any basket case teams for a start.
I was at the win against Collingwood for my birthday last year with some mates that barrack for the pies (you beauty) and no one gave us a chance that day. This is not out of the realms of possibility
