I was thinking this morning what it would be like to have a showdown GF.

SA would go insane.

Wouldn't want to be a fan of the losing side.

Good chance for a Showdown final I reckon.

Still like Brissy and Melbourne then there's the flakey Pies too and the old cat men.

No real stand out team yet.

A few years back there was the real chance of an Eagles-Freo Derby Grand Final, would have been just as epic viewing.

A Showdown Final back in 2000s literally the state of SA shut down that night. A Grand Final Showdown is just unimaginable, the fall out would be incredible, the game, the fights, both on and off field would last generations.

Can you tell me what's flakey about the Pies?

Could the AFL have botched the Hawthorn investigation any more than it appears they have. News filtering out that it’s being wrapped up as Sir Doug Nicholls Round commences is a touch of delicious irony that only the AFL could be capable of

None of us has any way of knowing if the allegations were true, false or somewhere in between but they were serious. That this investigation could conclude without any of the three defendants, for wont of a better term, being interviewed is quite bizarre

It’s a totally unsatisfactory outcome that diminishes the complainants, does nothing to exonerate the accused and brings the public no closer to the truth

Total farce that sits proudly among prior AFL investigations that have been similarly botched
I have largely stayed away from these discussions, and haven’t read much published in the media, so I’ll just report what has been mentioned on our board.

For Fagan, Burt and Clarko to attend mediation, they had to meet 21 requirements from the lawyers representing the indigenous victims.

Part of the requirements was admitting their guilt and expressing their sorrow, be willing to provide financial compensation, and be willing to top up the compensation fund for future parties.

The indigenous victims are refusing the release of their testimony, so Fagan and co don’t know what they have specifically been accused of.

I don’t know how the AFL is supposed to move forward if one side doesn’t want to be part of the process, and the other side refuses to engage because they haven’t received any information about what they’re accused of doing.

So essentially "apologise and pay us money for something we've accused you of but we won't tell you what that actually is until you've agreed to compensate us financially"?

I've been around crypto long enough to smell a scam when I see one, if this is indeed the case.

It is hard to mediate off there is no middle ground for the parties though.

How do you mediate "you did this" "no we didn't"?

I haven't got clue what's going on but here's some uninformed speculation from the Brisbane board.
