Heard on the radio today that Pickett received two payments of $9,000 and $6,000. So $15k out of a reported $380k which indicates a relatively small involvement and there’s be no mention yet that he was a party to the actual burglaries

Obviously his priors are going to complicate things but it doesn’t scream prison time based on what’s been reported

Will be interesting then what Richmond/the AFL do if he’s found guilty but avoids prison

What it all does reinforce though is some justification for WCE having at times been said to have avoided players with troubled backgrounds or sketchy mates

Yep, some people on here bitched and moaned about us avoiding Pickett and SPP, but time has proven that the club was right to avoid them. There's no way they would have stayed on the straight and narrow if they'd stayed in Perth (just like those in the know on this board had said).

Sicily 3 weeks. Absolute rubbish decision
I actually disagree on this one. was a slinging motion by sicily.

how much did the other hawks player contribute to the act would be unknown.

We know that if you sling tackle a player and they hit their head your gone for atleast 1 week. concussed minimum 3.

That push and then him standing there watching the play and showing no concern for the motionless McCluggage just shows you the type of person he is.
He went back to check after the trainer arrived and he realised McLuggage wasn't moving.

Agree, it was a complete sling and Brockman being there had no impact upon the motion or force of contact with the ground.

McCluggage was knocked out instantly and lay motionless on the field for over a minute afterwards.

The little push after didnt help Sicilys cause.

Grub act of the highest order. Could easily have caused permanent damage to McCluggage with his neck in that position.

Deserves an additional week on top of the three just for that.

Nobody wants to see players lying unconscious and receiving additional cheap shots from grubs when their lights are already out.

Im more flabbergasted the whorks are appealing this one.

Hopefully the khent ends up with 5 weeks.

It was a lunging tackle using his bodyweight to bring the player to the ground.

In literally ANY other season it would be cheered as an amazing defensive play that unfortunately resulted in a player being injured but that's the risk you take when you play this game.

I genuinely shake my head at anyone who thinks that should be a suspension, pathetic.

Times are changing. Not that 60 ex players suing the AFL over brain damage would influence the change.

He had mCluggage off his feet and carried the tackle through to its conclusion with full force and the bloke didn't have the footy after the first split second of the tackle.

If you drive the tackle home and knock a bloke out l, you are going to get weeks. It's not a bolt from the blue ruling.

You see plenty of players easing into the end of the tackle these days, aware that they are running a risk if they apply maximum force to the end

Now...whether it's worth the same punishment as sniping a kid off with a late, high bump is another question altogether.

Interesting take from two players to take responsibility for poor form..

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

I respect that a lot. Guess it only works if you have depth to cover for them.

It is a good reminder that players are well aware of their own form. We lament guys like Gaff for his drop off, but I doubt he's running out there thinking he's fantastic. He's just doing what the team needs him to do for now, at the best of his ability (even though that ability is limited).
