Yet he plays against any big bodied ruck and he gets dominated in the middle. He is a very good player, but he's not even a decent ruck. He played against 197cm Hayden Mclean and Joel Amartey tonight. Mclean btw still had 25 hitouts. Then there were 20 odd hitouts to other players (across both teams)

Well over 100 stoppages against no ruckman and he got 60 hitouts. It's about as impressive as having an emptied out F50 and having Hawkins kick 20 goals 1vs1 on Caleb Daniel.

TBH the dogs are a straight loser side. They have one of the top few lists in the league but outside of being absolutely gifted a run of umpiring which led to a premiership from 7th on the ladder they have done almost nothing. I would think Beveridge should be under as much pressure as any other coach in the league.

English dominated tonight his defensive running was elite for a big man and got 60 hit outs and wow it was against…… um let’s not discuss the other sides ruck options. Let’s also not discuss how even though he was so influential the Dogs still lost.
But let’s spend 1.2 million dollars on something that makes us feel good even though we already have a young ruck that’s improving every game and could sign him longer term for half the money or less. Ingenious!!!!!

Sydney literally dropped their best ruckman (old mate Hickey) despite knowing that it would mean they were conceding the ruck to WB/English.

Similar to Darcy last week - they’ve combined for nearly 120 hit outs and 0 wins.

Maybe it says more about their midfields than the ruckman himself but I’d rather spend on a KPP or a top line midfielder personally.

One of the best coaches of all time talks about how rucks are overrated and good midfielders are important.
The current coach that everyone is raving about also played under that coach and when he got his current job moved his highest paying over rated ruckman out of the club to Melbourne. They currently sit top of the ladder with a couple of Rucks that just play a role.
We had the best ruckman in the competition in 2018 and won the grand final too.
