Seen it dozens of times, if you dive on it and it doesn't come out regardless of who is holding it in there it's paid a free kick.
I will say however they seem to have been more lenient this year paying that free (depending on who's laying on it.)

They pay this all the time throughout the game. They bottled it and now the AFL have to do backflips to defend more utter incompetency from the umpiring.

Laughable.

Would have far more respect if the Umpires actually put their hands up for once and conceded they stuffed it up but of course that would require some form of accountability from them and we all know they are the most protected species in the AFL.

It was absolutely htb, but the number of times umps are calling play on with even more obvious calls.

Moving forward I see holding the ball get called as often as kicking in danger (ie never)

Don’t like Port at all but if they can make it that little bit harder for Collingwood to make finals then I’m all for it
