Haven’t watched a ton of the random excess Victorian games this year, but whoever this Matt Hill is commentating on Dogs Hawks is tremendous.

A proper broadcaster, calling the game, not creating nonsense catchphrases or look at me tantrums. So pure. Nice to see some praise for Paps on Twitter this morning too.

Initially I thought that the squad as a whole should receive acknowledgement for the team success. You’re right though - that should come from the club. It doesn’t need to come from the AFL.

The AFL should should allow their IP to be used in whatever format that presents (ie AFL logo on medals, trophies, whatever). But it should come from the club.

The idea of a ring is grotesque. I’ve never understood the appeal. They look tacky, and they really don’t reflect what is essentially a participation award.

They bang on about tradition to the point we can't just throw the ball up in the centre so yeah agreed, stick to the .
Rings being done elsewhere, leave it as is.

I don't think I've heard any issues with homophobic slurs in years - likely they've just been ignored or not addressed. And now 3 in the first half of a season.

You'd think with this homophobic stuff being in the media relatively frequently this year, that players would have been told by coaches to keep their mouths shut about it.

How dumb do you have to be? If I said something racist/ sexist/ homophobic in my workplace I would be fired, and im not being filmed live to millions of people. Surely its not that hard to have some awareness?

As you said likely ignore and not addressed, AFL now cracking down on it.

Similar to how some of the historic racism stuff that used to pass is now getting exposed
