Baiting opposition supporters is lame. Being a footy fan is lame. Spending hours of your week being emotionally wound up in a group of men chasing around a leather, oval, projectile as if the world is about to collapse in on itself if that group of men fail to chase that projectile better than another group of men… is lame. I’m on this forum. I’m lame. It’s good fun though being lame sometimes.

Since 2007, just 3 out of the 48 sides that started 0-3 were able to make the 8,

2021 Giants - 0-3 (7th)
2017 Sydney - 0-6 (6th)
2007 North - 0-3 (4th)

7 out of the 44 sides that started 3-0 went on to miss out,

2022 Carlton - 3-0 (9th)
2018 Port Adelaide - 3-0 (10th)
2016 Gold Coast - 3-0 (15th)
2014 West Coast - 3-0 (9th)
2012 Essendon - 4-0 (10th) and Carlton - 3-0 (11th)
2011 Brisbane - 4-0 (15th)

Round 3 tends to be a significant indicator for sides that form a streak either way, however the teams who start 0-3 are more likely to follow a path representative of that whereas those that start 3-0 are more prone to the contrary. Will be interesting to see how it plays out this year.

I think we will beat the Hawks this week and not make the 8 so we will become the 8th club to not make it from 3-0 most likely.

Deserved though it may be, there's only so much Collingwood praise that I can take!

Someone burst their ******* bubble ASAP
It feels gross, I cant actually find any actual fault in them atm and the hype seems warranted. They are also really entertaining to watch.
All I can hope for is that they cant sustain this for the whole season and will get opened up on the turnover more often as the season goes on.

Full strength and fit cats side would hold them off.
I feel we've adopted part of their model too. Pacing games and going harder late. Albeit they've had solid opposition and demolished them. We've had a flat track and a slight incline.

The build up to anzac day feels perfect as a test to see how far off we are with what we're doing

While i admire your optimism they will obliterate us on current form.

Hence how far off. I.e decades or years :p
Im glad for once i couldnt get tickets. Its nice watching them beat other teams. And it's genuinely enjoyable watching the daicos boys.
Anzac day is gonna be hard viewing :p
i think if our game against st kilda this week goes well i'd have more optimism wrt our future performance in that game but i think right now we'll be decently okay going forward into games like that

I don't think it is sustainable.

Mitchell is already not training and I have heard that a few others are fairly sore as well.

Can't help but think the same.
We really need someone to tag out Daicos. It seems one of the best ways to at least stifle some of Collingwoods strengths going by their loss against Sydney last year.
Who is Essendons best tagger? Don't think we've ever really had one.
