Is weddle a big body mid or utility. Don’t think either of those boys would actually help their issue for 3/4 years. The real hurt is losing dawson who has become a big body mid at Adelaide.
Yep Weddle looks classic utility size but I thought I heard the Hawks say they will try and make him a midfielder. Like you said 3-4 years until you can expect them to impact games.

Rowbottom is 186 / 82. How is that small?
Didn’t realise he was 186. Gun player but they all seem a similar size on tv (Heeney, Parker, Florent, Warner, Mills). Turns out they are all around the 183-87 mark.

There doesn’t seem to be a replacement for Kennedy (190+ brick shhithouse type)

Watching teams like Adelaide/Collingwood the thing that sticks out like a sore thumb more than our 100 other deficiencies is they have such good kicks! compared to 90% of our list just bombing their panic kicks.
Thing that stands out to me is the win contested footy over most positions. Our kicking in general has been 70% plus effective other than when we have been under real pressure. Our panic handball has been a bigger issue.

Agree. We also seem to be one of the weakest marking teams, specially contested marking.

Is that because they don’t get in the right spots (chemistry/gameplan/recruiting), get there and drop it (skills/development), get out-marked by taller opponents (injuries/recruiting) or get pushed outta the drop zone by stronger opponents (conditioning/injuries/recruiting)?

Yes

So he's a hard nut 186cm in and under midfielder who you don't consider suits our needs because in your opinion he's a little light.
Give me a break!
This isn't a trade thread. This is commenting on Sydney's team. He's saying 82 kg is light for someone Rowbottom's height as an inside mid. Which it is.

Talk about a total over reaction. I just said 82kg is light for a 186cm player.

We have already reached the stage of our season where we have to rely on that to ease our souls.
2 coleman medallists
reigning brownlow medallist
good injury profile
travelled once
3 of the best coming up

and their 2pts ahead of us....

meanwhile we've played the top 5, lost 6/7 defensive options, 2x KPF options, and statistically the 2nd best clearance mid in the comp.

oh, and they've had their eagles and north games and still manage 1% better than us

to paraphrase Jakey Carlisle, Carlton are f'd

Indeed. I am kind of ok with how we are going given tough draw and some very credible efforts along the way.

It's definitely time to revel in it.

I can smell what they're cooking... and it smells like soggy cabbage.

This is very sad. Grew up with him commentating in the 80s. Was always likeable and did a pretty good job behind the limelight that went to Lou and Landy and others and then when the likes of Bruce, Cometti, Rex and others took over.

I'd never heard of this type of cancer before.
Now within 6 months I'm hearing about it with Sandy and Dale Tapping

Use to enjoy watching Ken in the coaches box at Hawthorn - was the wildest I have seen a coach lose it. A guy I knew played amateur cricket against him said he would lose it on the pitch too but was a great guy off the field.
