Anyone with any footy knowledge knows Grundy has no idea how to play forward. A couple weeks in the vfl ain’t going to change that. Wouldn’t be surprised if Grundy is at port next year.
Cool

tbh i never thought that grundy/gawn would work since they’re both number 1 ruckman, compared to someone like paul salmon (for lack of a modern day example) who could also consistently kick bags
They will not work if you are expecting them to be someone like Salmon as well. That is what I am saying. For them to work Melbourne need a FF in form plus Van rooyen at CHF . Then one of them goes forward like Draper. They can not be taking a traditional forward spot.
Max was great last night so there is an argument that playing both detracts from each other which is true so the question is do you take the combined efforts of both , which was still very good , over the fact both would be not as good over the game as individuals.
Last night says going with Gawn only worked but I still think they can both play if Melbourne find a FF and not try and use one of the rucks as that guy.
The difference in the end for Melbourne last night was Pertracca kicked goals this week and Pickett found a bit of form.

I really like the way Zac Bailey plays. If Alwyn ends up having a similar impact he'll be a lot of fun to watch.

And so many crumbs to be had at the foot of Madden.

That beard had a decade’s worth of tumbling crusty bread caught within its shadowy, luminous, foreboding, dense forest.
Definitely a schoolteacher of the late 70’s early 80’s !
