Or Harry?!
Or walsh?!
Or Cripps?!
Or weitering?!
Come on there is way more to their side than Charlie
All great players in their own right, none of them have the match winning ability of a Curnow. If anything Hewett has had a huge influence in balancing their midfield from a defensive point of view. If I were coaching against a Carlton team the player I'd want to have the least amount of influence is Charlie. He has a day out they win 9 times out of 10. Walsh, Cripps etc will always find the footy, but you shut down Curnows influence your chances of winning increase massively imo.

Well yeah if he kicks 5+ you’ll likely lose, but you can probably say that with most teams key forwards. I’d say the key to beating Carlton is beating them at contested ball and clearances. Take that away and they don’t have much to fall back on.

Half of Geelong’s side tonight has played 150+ games and their average games played is 157.

Hawks, North and Crows are under half that and we almost scrape in as well.
Is that cliff actually going to come?

Richmond with the most disastrous two weeks since the time we lost to Gary Rohan after the siren from 19 points up with 3 minutes on the clock and then backed it up the following week by somehow losing to a Brisbane team with 2 wins to their name (it was round 15) after leading by 27 points in the last quarter.

I think Richmond just edge us out here. They were up by 40 in the game they lost after the siren and then lost to an even worse team than the 2017 Lions.

Some of freedom Adelaide allowed Daicos today was disgraceful for afl football. I’d put Guelfi on him next week.
Wasn’t helped by their refusal to man up on him, but Jesus Christ what a player. He’s going to win the rising star by such a distance they may as well give him the award for 2023 and 2024 as well.

Those stats for a 19 year old in the modern game… insanity

Hawkes fans still convinced it should go to Newcombe because, you know, he is a real midfielder.

Newcombe is a great player too, but he’s not a patch on Daicos

I hate that he’s going to be a 300 game player for Collingwood.

Well that’s moreorless the same thing, don’t allow him to get the cheap 1 2s around the back because that’s how he’ll cut you up with his elite kicking. Try and make him win his own ball.
The same distance as most winners win considering the voting system 😂

Yep. Love that the names stick with the clubs.

Can't even consider giving the award to a second year player or 21 yo when there is a kid first year out of school at the same level.
Do like that nick is living up to the hype

He's an awesome footballer to watch. One of the best 1st year kids ive seen too.

Watching some of the footy shows while catching up on work stuff and can't help but love that something special is brewing on the Gold Coast.

Stuart Dew has really got all the players buying into the 'culture' they want. Led by some pretty decent leaders in Touk Miller, Jarrod Witts, David Swallow.

Anderson is a pretty special sort of player, Rowell hasn't even got going fully since that blitzkrieg start to his career 3 years ago.
Any chance you can talk up our opponent a little more often mate?

Ty Zantuck gets the green light to sue the Tigers for debilitating back and brain injuries.

He received more than 20 epidurals as well as dozens of local anaesthetic injections during his playing career with Richmond.

Given the drama of player welfare with our players during the SAGA, it was the EFC that refused to keep injecting him in 2005.🤔

Local anaesthetic is widespread during games and training, they go down the race get a jab and some strapping and come back up looking like new.

I think Adam Cooney was the one that commented on getting his knee drained every week and a couple of jabs before every game or something? Or might have been Dev Smith. Not unique by any means.

I think the use of them is fine as long as it’s pain management for something that isn’t likely to get any worse, e.g. a broken finger that’s been pinned together by a surgeon and strapped to the next finger but isn’t fully healed.

Epidurals are a frightening concept though, for more reasons than I care to contemplate.

He was 'made' to do a training camp with 2 fractured vertebrae I think.
