Massive chance they take our finals drought record off us....once we stop the clock :S

Doubtful unless they do something totally and utterly stupid on top of what they've already done.

Like in ~ 5 years time just as their list is coming good, spend 3 years with them under investigation then ultimately suspend most of the playing list and destroying the club for another decade.

Plus we've had appalling luck in our finals games; Weightman bulk frees in front of goal, Rohan manhandling Gleeson. Meanwhile Carlton played the world's most inaccurate Melbourne who simply couldn't kick a goal to save themselves and then a GWS team who lost by 1 point after burning 4 or 5 very likely goals.

At their utmost worst we've lost to the eagles, lions, dees and blues.
North went close too.
the crows made us earn it in a year they finished last.

i have very little appetite for them remaining in the comp.
They and the saints can go be VFL powerhouses for all i care.

But the compensation hasn't been massive
Tucker and Logue for free
19 (which will slide to mid 20s) in a less than stellar draft by all accounts
19 and 20 will also push out.

Nothing on what Carlton got...and still couldn't capitalise on.
Sanders and 11 would have been a windfall.

Ideally they get 2-3 years of clarkson to fix it. Then the licence goes to Tassie and North follow the path of Fitzroy

On the tickets for members, perhaps clubs should be limited to how many they can offer fans that include a GF ticket option.
No ballots.
Go down the list of your oldest to most recent until you hit 17k.
Then stop.

what the **** lol, that's dumb.

this might be a hot take, but i think that the game should be played on a neutral ground, unless both teams are from the same city (aka 2 melbourne teams or 2 adelaide/perf teams) because home grounds do provide an actual advantage. it won't happen because the afl cares more about money than it does about fair playing conditions, but it'd be a good change

every year we complain about the corporates at the grand final but the 22K MCC members getting tickets gets skipped over. it's gross. as far as I can tell the only way for the AFL to drastically reduce that number would have been to just threaten to take the GF away unless that number is cut down massively, but lol, sign a 40 year deal without really even making the MCC work for it and **** all over everyone instead.

yeah it was justified by saying that we needed to give them assurances that the GF would stay there so that a MCC-led development could go ahead, or something....but to me that just goes down a totally different path of how upgrades of the Victorian government owned MCG should be funded
