it's much easier to do in a well-operated club with an established, lauded culture (as much as all the "hurrhurr bloods kulcha " fluff makes me cringe, it's legit), a number of quality, finals-hardened veterans, and being allowed to take players like heeney and mills for free while being in the top four because you're the afl's favourite special baby
