From the outside looking in, absolutely.

I think post the Pies game the players thought they would coast into finals. Even the media were calling us a shoe in for finals.

Us fans, no way, once bitten twice shy.

We could still make it but would probably have to win 3 minimum, 4 to be sure. That would be bigger than Bradbury gold!

Makes me sick to the pit of my stomach to see the Hawks and Blues in the 8 and us meekly surrendering our spot after showing promising signs. I feel like punching every single Essendon player in the face for the way in which they have embarrassed the club. Lucky for them I’m a pacifist though so I’d more than likely just tell them to do better next time and tell them that all they need is love (da daa dada daaa).

You’re kidding, right? Just to see those two teams in the 8 makes me sick to the core which is what I was highlighting. The Blues might not win another (they should) but that’s not my point. Those two teams being there ahead of us should make all Essendon supporters seek out an antiemetic prescription.

Happens when you have a club with half decent culture. Until you change the culture of the club you will end up having a rebuild every 2 to 3 years.
Let’s face it the Hawks did not **** themselves by trying to take shortcuts with some witch doctor who had been run out of the NRL for dodgy practices and also the GC in the AFL .
I think people really under estimate the long term effects. It divided the players from 2016 . It killed any chance that a half decent list had of winning a final. The aftermath was to try and hang onto the threads and Dodoro was allowed to have free rein over list management and drafting.
Then you have a board and CEO more concerned about keeping the bottom line than winning games of football.
Football doesn’t suck . Idiots running clubs suck .
Even though the Hawks had a bit of a biff on over Kenneth’s replacement it was a biff on between two groups who where focused on football and not accounting.
