Taking Sydney out, it's predictable that we're now the clear last out of that group. The rest weren't afraid to bottom out and take their time to build a list capable of sustained success. Didn't help that we used 3 picks on an untested draft and screwed up multiple first rounders.

If we have those picks one year earlier, we have a choice of Serong, Day, Pickett, Flanders, Georgiades, De Koning, Weightman - all drafted around that pick. I’m sure Dodoro would’ve managed to pick someone who can’t kick though.

One of the players would’ve been Harrison Jones. I know this because Dodoro said we would’ve taken him with pick 9 if we didn’t trade it out for Shiel.

No idea what the outcome will be but the averages on this issue are almost entirely the wrong stat. The median is a much better indications because what you really want to understand is if there is a group of players involved in a contest what are their ages likely to be and how many games are they likely to have played. The ages and experience of Darling, Parker and Goldstein are not relevant.
