Surely Ken gets terminated this year.
I always go to the Sack Ken Hinkley board after a heavy Port loss. So brutal and dehumanising. I then wonder if Scott would get that type of vitriole if things turned south.

But the difference is that Port have achieved some success in the last 20 years whereas we are so used to disappointment

Plus the good ol boys in the Port supporter base still are used to perpetual success during their glory days in the SANFL.

I think the issue is that they have looked like they could win a premiership and at times the media have gone as crazy about some of their players (Rozee, Butter et al) as they are now about Warner, Gulden and Heeney. It is the failure to take their decent chances that is working against Ken. Similar to the talk this year about Fagan. Another couple of years of top 4/8 finishes for Lions without a flag will see Fagan copping the same stuff Hinkley is now.

There is something in the AFL about seeking out the next coach killing. It becomes a sport and the media are like sharks in the water following the trail of blood. I am sure media pressure has led to coach sackings in the past that might not have otherwise happened.

I think it would be an easy trap to fall into as a supporter base; if your team is perpetually close to the prize you'd always be confident. There'd be so many good wins along the way that would confirm the belief as well. Maybe, given how long we've been bereft of success, we'd be easily persuaded in the same situation.

I look at Ken and I see Rodney Eade in his WB days; always close but no cigar.

If they picked up a coach like Scott or Kingsley before the end of the season, with the list they've got, they could turn things ariund fairly quickly.

Melbourne have a worse forward set up than us and do even dumber shit going inside 50 . How they think kicking to a 3 on 1 in the goals square is a good option is beyond me.
