If nothing else I'd say I would never ever ever use a top 10 pick on a defender. You can so often get what you need from the defence with anyone on an AFL list that's over 195cm tall and/or turn a failed mid into a running HBF.

Forwards and mids and nothing else with top 10 picks. I would consider picks in the teens to be spent on defenders

We really need to see Erasmus playing games soon at AFL level. Pick 10, 18 months ago as a mid. He needs to have 8-10 games at the level this season to stay the course on his development. The conservatism in selection of young guys like this is so frustrating.
