For a team that finished second, you’d be real concerned with that list.

Admittedly they’ve missed Houston and Pharrel, but Houston is going. Dixon is finished, Marshall is beige, Boak and Wines are cooked. Rioli is fat and 30, he’s not getting any better.

Sweet looks good, but Soldo is a potato.

Zero-Thatcher, Rutagalea and Burton aren’t much chop.

They have no first round pick this year, but should get one for Houston.

They’re on massive trouble
They've got enough young talent, especially the mids, that they just need a refresh and to stop throwing picks at potatoes really. Gerogiades is gun too.

Guns a bit much for Georgiades, but the three amigos are elite, although I do have questions about their size as a group.

Another reason why Young and Warner will be so good together 💪

Anyone watching and thinking that these two aren’t much better than Fremantle ?
How the hell did Port get 2nd and Fremantle miss altogether. Far out
Well Port is far better at applying pressure. Pretty sure that explains most of the difference.

Confident he's gun and JHF is a monster. They have great balance as a midfield unit IMO.

Midfield is amazing, young, and potentially best in the comp. Ken’s been in charge over 10 years and never prioritised any other area of the ground. It’s like he’s been trying to recreate Geelong 2007

Any coach who see the value in having a more well rounded squad will do wonders.

They have a lot of holes to fill…not much currency. Lot of old players

It's funny how their cross town rivals have prioritised literally the exact opposite

Compared to Heeney, Warner, Gulden? Neither of them are close, Geelong's is a mile off
Problem there is all 3 of those aren't what you'd call 4 quarter players. Brisbane's best can at least compete and will get on top for not insignificant periods.

Geelong, well, you're right but through coaching structure alone they find a way to nullify that gap most weeks.

Agree Kenny’s outlasted his welcome by about 5 years but Tbf ports constant insistence on topping up with C grade talent and often using good draft capital to do so is also a major reason for them being good but never great .

It’d be even more frustrating for port supporters to stomach as their clubs drafting talent ID has generally been pretty good

I think Sydney's bizarre horrible 6 weeks has kind of masked that they are far and away the best team this year. I dont really rate either of the other two tbh. Maybe it's closer than I think and not as straightforward as I'm saying but Sydney's to lose IMO

Very good.
Not easy to draft amongst thay
But got Rozee for Wingard, Butters. Add in JHF, a first pick, for basically a first rounder.

Just need to back their recruiting rather than any return homers that want to go to Port.
Ratugolea is terrible. Zerk Thatcher is crap. Narkle has shown why he was never good for Geelong.
Burton is meh.
So many B-C graders that have come in and not do much

It's weird. I think Sydney are more of a burst team and play tempo footy very well around it. But I genuinely think Brisbane would have them at the G purely because their defence would hold up better and are far, far more potent in attack and will put more on the board when Sydney fall off the boil.

They have to get there first though. Brisbane at the G against a Victorian side...hmmm

Surely a rope-a-dope in hindsight.

Despite us missing finals it's been an exciting year and I can't think of anything worse than a Sydney vs Geelong showdown.

Really hoping Lions get up tomorrow, perhaps I'm over the Neale betrayal finally.

I just dont want Geelong there because I'm sick of them and I'm also salty about Neale. I'm salty about the shit Swans have always gotten as well and their entitled supporters but they are still my preference over everyone.

I got over it once my tomato sauce told me in 2021 he really, really wanted to come back to Freo with the team/coach evolution - it wasn't just a partner-led thing.

I'd be OK with it now.
