I'm still surprised that they haven't traded out Sean Darcy who would be worth decent trade capital not to mention even more dollars off their books. Seems to be constant talk about him leaving since Jackson joined them but yet to eventuate.
I believe it’s going to be hard to move Darcy and his contract now, especially in light of injury history.

I don’t believe Murphy Reid is really a goal kicking mid at AFL level. He’s very much a pure inside mid, but doesn’t posses the power and explosiveness of Rayner or the evasiveness and speed of Bailey. He’s much more like a Pendlebury in style and athletic profile, albeit more hand ball skilled and reliant.
But how good a basketballer is he? :p

West Coast will grab Warner, Pickett and Starcevich in the same off season.
Most of the talk is Pickett to Fremantle.

And if Fremantle had the salary cap and trade capital, Warner would more than likely pick them, as his whole family are Fremantle nuffies.

I think Freo might win the flag this year.

On the flip side the Demons look like a great place to be. It’d suck being a demons fan. Only flag in 70 odd years and years and you can’t attend because it’s played in Perth.
Was down at Yarra Bend golf practice range mid December n saw this guy who looked familiar n it was Tom Fullerton and with him was Sharpy. No smiles just looking a tad disinterested. Then I saw Oliver walking and he looked very strong n happy n then Petracca also laughing but looking very thin. Anyway the entire team was there some playing mini golf n some on driving range but our ex boys just going thru the motions by the looks of it.

He played in a stacked Sandringham side, where everyone kicked goals for fun, and all mids spent a fair bit of time rotating forward.
Well my thinking is Freo have an overload of pure mids and need to re-jig that a little. They pushed Fyfe up forward and then for whatever reason brought him back to middle again. Shai Bolton is a good addition in that midfielder/forward combo which they need more of.

Treacy and Amiss look solid, I would've added a third banana like Membrey to really increase their potency. All in all, looks like a really good list if they could hit their straps at the pointy end of season.

Because Fyfe had a severe case of the yips, cracked the sads, and generally sucked up forward.

He’s cooked, but he’s also a club legend.

Good thing they got rid of Matt Kennedy to the Dogs then 🙃
Feels like they've gone down the mini rebuild route instead of topping up with Houston and Membrey to go for a flag now.

Not sure if Jagga Smith is going to have a Daicos or Ashcroft like season to make a difference in year 1. If not it'll be curtains for Vossy.

I see the Carlton Pres has fallen on the sword after offending someone on a SM post which he claims was hacked and put up by someone else.

Two things . Firstly he sounds like a bit of a dill but besides that the world is now officially nuts with all the crap that gets regurgitated every day over next to nothing.

Secondly the Blues are always perfecting new ways to self implode.

I mean FM . Have a read of this.

heroar.com.au/2025/01/22/luke-sayers-resigns-as-carlton-president-role-following-afl-clearing-on-social-media-controversy/

We've got the Nuremberg Trial over a SM post .

I just shakes me head at how supposedly intelligent people manage to get themselves entangled into mini furores , the braindead seriousness with which 'authorities' love to take it ,and the general squarehead self righteousness that seems to have permeated the world that we live in.

Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw would've had a picnic with the current societal mindset.

You're glossing over the (most likely) fact that he sent a dick pic, accidentally posted it instead, and then claimed he was "hacked" in a world where if you're getting hacked they're not sending dick pics.

OK so he's a dill as I said. If you're correct.

The mock seriousness over what's so comical is what tickles my fancy.

Just on your point though it's inconceivable someone of his intelligence ( I'm assuming you need a few neurons to be Carlton President ) would be sending that sort of material to a likewise person in a similar position of authority without some sort of prior interaction or a reason to believe that it's not totally unwelcome.

Hysterical all round.

No doubt.

But all going well we still have the best cattle to execute it. And if Coleman can come back in form fuel to the fire.
Being able to defend it might become the bigger challenge than being able to execute it. In fact I reckon that's exactly what will happen. Might not be this season but it won't be far off.
