Although I have Greek ancestry on one side of the family as I've mentioned before, I don't identify as one and feel extremely little connection to Greece or Greek people. Which may have something to do with counting myself as 100% Australian with little room for any other ethnicity. How silly I must be to have adopted the quaint notion a person should be absolutely loyal to the country in which they were born... definitely not a fashionable trend liable to catch on among immigrant communities anytime soon.

We're much better off not bring Bay13 posters' ethnicities into it at all, except in cases like Crobot given his frequent attempts to rub his Slavic heritage in everyone's face.

Remember in Carey's first game against Norf, Archer pretended to throw a punch and he flinched something shocking? First and only time I thought Glenn Archer lived up the neverending stream of media fellatio he received.

The rest of the time he was little more than a nuggety undersized KPD with a limited skill set who put himself in harm's way slightly more than was the norm. I guess the media were desperate to talk up Norf after Carey left to keep the ratings high during their prime time games, and Archer was the guy who's neck they decided to hang all that pukeworthy Shinboner Spirit crap around.
Mind you, it must be said they've gone backwards on-field ever since Cousin Brad ditched it in favor of his "High Performance Culture". They feel like a club without a soul these days and installing a petty thug in Ziebull as captain hasn't helped. Bit of a shame Burton didn't line him up instead of Higgins but I've no doubt he'll get what's coming to him eventually.

Troy Makepeace used to do the same, but you never heard them crap on about Shinboner spirit with regard to him. Archer was just blessed to be surrounded by the last real talented Norf team.

Part of me admires Norf for having the nerve to keep this crazed felon on their board another full year despite the justified media pressure to sack him, the rest of me wonders if the real reason they were so slow in "encouraging" him to walk was typical Norf Melbourne incompetence. When a club fails to make money from poker machines you can never assume they'll get anything right!
