Re: North Central Football League

Ive been watching this Thread for quite a while now, and have noticed quite a bit of talk about those two red heads from st arnaud The older archibald, brett isn't it? i saw his last game for st arnaud, playing reserves against donald

im not usually one to pick on fellow redheads, afterall, some of us are the 'stereotypical' red heads. but the way archibald sniped in at young daniel allen in that game last year was simply appauling. id doubt whether the football club at st arnaud are missing him at all. he could play well when he did concentrate on the ball, however he could also seem to concentrate on the opposition on many occasions

i see clint ward was named on the bench in the 1's on saturday for the saints. will he play down back? he done a great job on phil bramley back a few years ago now

Im a big fan of red heads. Ive seen some of Clint Wards perfomances in the two's forward and back, hope he has his mind on the job and leaves the frustraions in the rooms before the game. Be reading the results with intent. Good luck Big Fella. ( He must be fit ):thumbsu:

Re: North Central Football League

We arent all no hopers...young bish from wyche's a redhead isnt he? he goes well

Yeah RHS, i think so

As for Ward, he had a pretty good Pre-Season, he got interrupted by Injury not long b4 The first game, lost a bit, but has got back into training... The big fella may be what we need in the side, with Drummy out still, the average height of the side diminished quite a bit.

Re: North Central Football League

St. Arnaud is going that bad this year that they are using Damian Yole as a replacement for the depatures from last year I think he is in for Brett Archiebald

you seem to know a fair bit about st. arnaud mike are you from there?hows the side looking this week?

Re: North Central Football League

Hey can anyone tell me how my old mate Josh Pearce is going at Weddaburn this year? What position is he playing, i would imagine up fwd swapping in the ruck?

Yeah pearcey has been going pretty well Happy. He is playing up forward and has managed to snag a couple of small bags (4). He is one of 4 tall forwards playing at the burn this year so he may get a few bags when playing on some miss matches. Has swapped into the rick on occasions to give the Dinosaur a rest!

Re: North Central Football League

So what's the big changes this week. i see Matty Tinkler an Zac White back in for the Dees 2 blokes with a bit of size, with drummy out, have the saints got enough size to cover the likes of Tinkler, Harrison, the 2 Whites + Butcher. Ex Charlton Boy Clint Riley will line up in the magoos for this second game with the Demons. should be a good day of footy, and with the added support of the 95-96-97 premiership reunion the Demons should come out on top

Re: North Central Football League

ziggy redeemed himself on the weekend having a very consistent day with the whistle and cracking down on the swearing especially when it was close to the boundary

consistently inconsistent i would have thought!! One week Thommo's allowed to swear and abuse the umpires all day without a free kick or a fifty being paid, the next week its a different story with frees and fiftys being dished out willy nilly for the odd f bomb dropped, second worst ump in the comp!!

Can you let me know the in's and out's for the firsts and reserves? No doubt everyone would have made themselves available this week as it sounds like a winable game?

Umpire training must consist of umpire's being told to be consistently inconsistent! It get's worse and worse each week, I think they watch too much AFL umpires and just wait to blow the whistle at each constest instead of letting the game flow.

That is alot of talls, will the Saint's be able to combat that? Maybe it could come down to fitness in the midfield.

Good to see Clint back having a kick, was quite a handy player... Hurt his knee pretty badly over at Boort a few years ago which sort of put his career on hold... Are any of his other brothers going to have a run around???
