I guess like all young blokes, they will have good games and poor games, while they adjust to playing senior footy. Good though to see Wedderburn investing in some of their young local blokes.

Birchip Watchem 31.25 (211) v Wyche-Narraport 4.3 (27)
Donald 7.15 (57) v Boort 24.6 (150)
Wedderburn 18.19 (127) v St. Arnaud 14.13 (97)
Charlton 0.0 (0) v Bye 0.0 (0)

These results from Round 3 invite a number of questions:

*Who will get close to the Bulls this year?
*What was Boort doing against Charlton to lose by 5 goals in rd 1?
*How good is Charlton?
*How bad is St Arnaud?
*Will Wyche fold?[/quote]

Re: North Central Football League

Adam Ritchie is looking at a 4+ game suspension, after his actions forced the KO of one person, split scull of another, and close to broken nose of yet another...stay tuned for how his hearing goes

Re: Lance

as far as the Picciaoni comment goes, he was run ragged against St Arnaud...you aren't curled over with your hands on your knees if you have an apparent wrist injury...he was simply run ALL OVER THE GROUND.... and didn't want to be disgraced by a St Arnaud younger player!

Re: North Central Football League

Jury still out on Birchip for mine. Wyche will be handed out thumpings like that every week.

Wait until they play Charlton, Donald, Boort before genuine comments can be made.

Master you'd have to be a st arnaud supporter. He took the 1 match penalty straight away. Which was a good result for him. However a couple of things to note is that he was in the scrap with Drum but the other injuries (split scull, KO etc) weren't done by him. that was a head but gone wrong for the big fella Soly and some side entertainment to the feature fight between the two big men.

It was also a disgrace by the umpire not to send both players off as they both were fighting. for those who weren't there, ritchie got red carded and Drum didn't even get spoken to. Wdderburn played the second half a man down.

What is this guy Danny Green or sumthing? If he has caused this much damage on three St Arnaud players where was the rest of the team?

I pulled the screw driver out and Blue boys head is definatley screwed on... I am with him on the wyche comment. Although they have been very strong throughout their life as a club, they have never looked worse, struggling for numbers and the juniors battling i can't see them being around for long. NCFL have been monitoring the flow of juniors coming through the ranks and wyche are struggling. The numbers in the schools aren't as good as they'd want. As the good group of locals they have slowly moves on in life they will struggle to recruit players into the town. Swan hill isn't a bottomless pit for recruiting and bendigo people travel past Marong, Bridgie, Inglewood, Wedderburn and Charlton before they get to wyche. Would love to see Wyche continue on rebuild the powerhouse that was but unfortunately i can't see it happening.:(

nothing up with the wrist roc, have another go.

Re: Lance

Heard that new recruit at Wederburn "Hutto Fevola" is a cult hero already at the redbacks. Kids have his number on their backs already and the burn females are all over him.

GBanger back with 2 long first quarter goals on the run also shows he is in for a big year.

Come on redbacks

To be honest, there is not many heroes getting around the burn so a fresh face will do the town good.

Re: North Central Football League

There appears to be quite a few 'Burn supporters in this forum, so I'm wondering if you really think the Redbacks are a premiership contender if Wyche got even close to them. The Demons usually lift against arch rival Birchip but they were pitiful on Saturday. Don't think they will fold though, history shows they're happy to have one or two lean years to save up for a real premiership tilt.

Re: North Central Football League

Will North Central be around in 2007 or will they fold? i'd say somthing will have to be done half of donalds Players are ex Horsham players
Donald and St.Arnaud and maby Charlton be better off in Wimmera fl if something had to happen which i'd say it would have to
and Birchip/Watchem to Mallee their not that far for alot of the Mallee clubs,
maby also wycheproof, expand the mallee league dunno where Boort would go to

I would like to no what you clase as a "hero" Weapo? When talking about kids in a club admiring senior players there are alot of heros in every club, so i dont think that the burn are struggling at all for "heros". Hero footballs maybe, but what good is one hero when you are talking about a sport where there is 18 players on a side....?

Great post. I think the next year or two will really sort things out. I imagine Boort and Wedderburn would probably head into the Loddon Valley or somewhere in that direction. It will really depends on the clubs, once one goes. But at the end of last year there was lots of discussion about the possibility of Beulah joining the League. But who knows.

Re: North Central Football League

i knew their was talk about Donald & St.arnaud who have to approach the wimmera not wimmera approch them, its the clubs who gotta apporach
i think wimmera would welcome them, bring in Charlton and bring wimmera upto 12 team comp, wimmera getting a bit stale something will have to happen eventually and yeah Beulah's far too good for Mallee to Strong, they always been a very strong side they always managed to replace players who leave Boort better off in Loddon Valley maby wycheproof to Mallee ?
or Golden Rivers being down the road from Nullawil who are in golden rivers
their only 10-15 minutes from Wyche , wedderburn to Loddon as well
be like the central Goulburn who folded end of last season with 7 teams
some went to Kyabram, some to mountain valley, murray & Picola etc

Re: North Central Football League

Hey Fellas not from this league but just wondering if any of u blokes know of Jarrod (toadfish) Ritchie, Great bloke.. Just wanting a report on how his footy is going.. Thanks Fellas :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Re: North Central Football League

Had a look at donald boort on the weekend. What a fast game & the skills top noch. Boort looked very good, Donald need a key forward, something like the big Boort boy, who is a strong mark & long straight kick at the sticks. Everyone rates Donald but what i saw im on Boort.!!!

ofcourse, just like boort boys like to think they will win, same as charl, wyche, donald, wedd, etc etc its justthe way it goes....ain't it funny how you bring this up AFTER 3 rnds, not back when the post was originally made...

as far as my current ladder prediction goes, tis as follows

Boort
Birchip
Charlton
Donald
St Arnaud
Wedderburn
Wyche

Re: North Central Football League

1 game? that is completely undermining the principal of him being reported, yes drum should have been reported too "he threw the first punch, i threw the next 4" but i still believe that the whole '1 game offer' or 2 game offer system needs to be seriously looked at... if a player can get 3 games for telling an umpire hes 'umpiring like crap' then hitting a player of the opposition should be worth well and truly more than 1 game

Re: North Central Football League

the NCFL will survive as long as the 7 teams involved stay affiliated, should another side join (Beulah from Mallee for example) then it may encourage other borderline NCFL clubs to join, making ncfl a stronger league, but if this is to happen, it will not be in the immediate future...will take time....

should one of the current teams fold or move leagues.... then it will be disbanded most likely... St Arnaud, Donald to Wimmera...Charlton. Wedderburn, Boort to LVFL...........Birchip to Mallee and Wyche to Golden Rivers...(if not mallee)

Re: North Central Football League

and as far as ritchie goes, hes a hell of a player, just too bad he hasn't got the sensability to go with it. much the same as Dell was.
